“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

–Matthew 5:4

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

–John 3:16

“And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life.”

–1 John 2:25

“All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.”
–St. Francis of Assisi

“Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future.”
–Oscar Wilde

“Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them.”
–George Eliot

Today is All Souls Day, the commemoration of the faithful departed.  On this day, Christians pray that their departed loved ones are blessed with God’s mercy in heaven.

“I’m hoping for a massacre, and we’ll see . . . overwhelming Democratic votes across the board.”

–Actor Michael Douglas, speaking about the mid-term elections.

Of course Michael Douglas is hoping for a “massacre”! He is a Leftist.

Mr. Douglas went on to state that Democrats would immediately tackle and fix the “affordability crisis” before impeaching President Trump. Oh? How? How did things get so unaffordable? Oh, right! Democrat rule for the 4 years of the China Joe Administration. High inflation, less production, falling wages, . . all due to Democrat policies.

“What keeps the shelves stocked at your local supermarket?  What gets lifesaving medical technology into hospitals, books into people’s hands, and cars into their driveways?  What puts food on the table for an entire society and makes clean drinking water something people can take for granted?  And what drives the innovation that makes all of it cheaper, better, and more widely available to the average American?  The free market.

And still, people fall for the idea that government can deliver more of those benefits by putting the market in chains, allowing it to operate only on terms dictated by politicians who cannot even run a postal service properly.

Don’t fall for it. Economic prosperity is what drives the well-being of a society. It is the politicians who have made the issues the average voter worries about, worse.  Healthcare is expensive because government tried to fix it.  Housing is expensive because government refuses to let people build houses. Immigration is broken because government wrote terrible rules. Families are squeezed from both ends: welfare policies that can penalize marriage on one side, and government making life more expensive on the other.

Stop putting your faith in politicians who use your problems to gain power, then use their failure to solve them to demand even more. Put it in your fellow Americans, who want the same chance you do to work, provide for your families, and to build a better life. Put it in their ability to pursue their own interests by offering something of value to everyone else.

That means putting your faith in the freee market, not the politicians who keep promising to save you from it.”

–Dmitri Bolt.

Dmitri Bolt is far more intelligent than Michael Douglas.

Congratulations to Biscuit Rigsby, to whom Governor Abigail Spanberger (D. Va.) restored his civil rights after a “thorough” review of his felon petition. Biscuit Rigsby is a dog. A dead dog, for over 5 years. But his owner now has something by which to remember him.

Between Betty No Last Name and Biscuit Rigsby, that Governor Spanberger is doing a bang up job, isn’t she? She must have a staff of Einsteins!

Former Representative Barbara Comstock (R. Va.) endorsed Sen. Mark Warner, a Democrat, over Republican Bert Mizusawa. No surprise. Barbara Comstock has always been worthless. Sip some more Chardonnay, Barbara.

“The George W. Bush Project endorsed John Cornyn in the primaries.  Ken Paxton was not our preferred candidate . . . However, the stakes are too high to allow a Talarico victory or a Democrat majority.”

–A statement by an independent group not affiliated with the former President.

FYI, yet another Bush–Laura, W.’s pro-abortion wife–donated to the Talarico campaign. The Republican Party cannot rid itself of Bush Republicans too soon.

“This is the equivalent of going to that, like, Klan, KKK neighborhood to stump for a black candidate.  The supremacist attitude underlying in their worldview is identical.”

–Democrat influencer and Abul El-Sayed’s close friend Hasan Piker, criticizing Democrat efforts to seek the support of Jewish voters.

What a hateful, hateful individual!

Representative Haley Stevens (D. Mi.) wanted U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed to renounce Hasan Piker and a truly awful anti-Semitic television commercial blaming inflation on U.S. aid to Israel. Mr. El-Sayed responded by publicly admonishing Representative Stevens to stay out of his campaign. Representative Stevens took the admonishment to heart, and yesterday publicly endorsed El-Sayed’s opponent, former Representative Mike Rogers (R. Mi.). Ouch!

Democrats erupted in rage at Haley Stevens’s endorsement of Mike Rogers, hyperventilating, sputtering, and foaming at the mouth.

“This is a despicable betrayal from Rep. Stevens. Senate Democrats are united in our support for Abdul El-Sayed, because we know he will fight for the economic interests of working families in Michigan, unlike Mike Rogers, who is a tool of Donald Trump and billionaire donors.”

–Senator Charles Schumer (D. N.Y.).

Abdul El-Sayed is an Egyptian citizen, a close friend of Hasan Piker, and maintains close ties with the terrorist group The Muslim Brotherhood.  Last time I checked, Senator Schumer was Jewish.

“Obviously Israel has driven most of this – which is another reason to unapologetically call these people Israel First Democrats – but just listen to her here: she’s also so clearly bothered about being disinvited from the AES event that… she went and endorsed Rogers in response. What a petty, thin skinned, angry, narcissistic, Trumpy* move on her part.”

–former MSNBC host Mehdi Hassan.

Mehdi Hassan is an America hating Muslim who was fired from MSNBC for being too Leftist.

“Today, Haley Stevens endorsed Donald Trump’s most savage policies—the brutalizing of Hispanics, the killing of US citizens in American streets, the launching of endless wars, the gutting of Michigander’s health care, his war on civil rights, higher gas prices, more expensive groceries, less health care, and endless corruption.  A vote for Mike Rogers is a vote for Donald Trump.  End of story.”

–MS NOW host, serial adulterer, and faux conservative Joe Scarorough.

But that was not the end of the story, as Joe cannot shut up.

“Her excuses for endorsing Trump/Rogers ring hollow. She condemns an antisemitic ad put out by a 3rd party not affiliated with El-Sayed, but embraces the Trump/Rogers ticket that has spent this entire campaign directly promoting the most grotesque forms of Islamophobia.”

–Joe Scarborough.

Would someone please inform Joe Scarborough that there is no such thing as “Islamophobia”? Just as there is no “transphobia”, or “homophobia”. These are just made up words the Left uses to denigrate their political opponents.

Here is someone who does not need to express herself in public.

“Come Wednesday, if Abdul wins I don’t want to hear a word from anyone about his margin and any ‘underperformance.’  Between Haley’s fuckery, the $70 million spent against him in the primary, and the insanely racist attacks on him, an Abdul victory will be one of the most impressive feats in political history.  People need to understand that Israel first Dems can never be trusted.”

–former MSNBC commentator and failed Virginia Democrat Congressional candidate Krystal Ball.

Outside of her own family, does anyone even know who Krystal Ball is?

“I honestly think Haley Stevens needs to check herself into the Lindner Center of Hope in Mason, Ohio.”

–George Conway.

After not receiving a coveted job in the Trump Justice Department, George Conway abandoned his family, divorced his wife [Kellyanne Conway], became a Democrat, and unsuccessfully ran for Congress.  And he thinks that Haley Stevens should be in a mental hospital?

Columbus, Ohio’s Democrat mayor has signed an agreement with Ghana, to import and train nurses. The city’s plan is to spend taxpayer dollars to fund this program. Apparently because everyone else in Columbus has a job? You have to import workers from the Third World? Someone alert President Trump!

Representatives Ro Khanna (D. Ca.) and Anna Paulina Luna (R. Fl.) are co-sponsoring legislation to forbid non-compete contracts for employees making less than $100,000.00 per year. Why? Why is this necessary? What business is it of the federal government? What federal power permits this micro-management of American industry (and no, the answer is not the commerce clause)? Congress needs to worry about bigger things than this. How about addressing the federal debt first?

In the San Francisco, California Bay area, Cook’s Seafood restaurant closed suddenly. Cook’s was an institution, specializing in fried seafood, and having been in business for 98 years. It was the Mayflower Seafood restaurant of the West Coast.

In-N-Out is opening in New Mexico, and expects to expand into Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Sadly, according to CEO Lynsi Snyder, there are no plans to expand all the way to the East Coast. Sigh. The Commonwealth of Virginia could really use an In-N-Out or 2.

McDonald’s restaurants are being sued in Chicago over allegations that the McRib Sandwich does not actually contain ribs. Of all the stupid lawsuits . . . .

An investment fund has offered to buy out Wendy’s International for $1.4 billion. Take the money and run, before it changes its mind.

The Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel hotel has been sold for $600 million. Wow. It is a beautiful mission style hotel built on cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Salt Creek Beach. The hotel is my favorite. English and I have enjoyed wonderful times there.

Paris, France is burning again. Violent protesters took to the streets. And President Macron? Probably took in a Justin Bieber concert.

SMU lost a heartbreaker to Syracuse. Wake Forest humiliated the public school in Charlottesville. It was so bad, UVA should never field a football team ever again. Clemson beat Florida State. N.C. State beat Cal. Stanford lost (of course they did!). North Carolina gave Miami all they could handle, but fell just short. Duke beat Boston College, and Pitt beat Georgia Tech.

Auburn lost to Mississippi. Georgia rolled over Florida, as did Texas over Mississippi State. South Carolina beat Oklahoma. Missouri beat Arkansas.

Arizona lost to Texas Tech. Iowa State topped Oklahoma State. Baylor beat Central Florida. Utah beat Cincinnati. BYU just got by Arizona State. Coach Prime’s team is still celebrating after Colorado got by Kansas State in overtime. TCU beat Kansas.

Boise State won. Utah State, San Diego State, and Fresno State all won.

Nevada lost to UCLA. New Mexico beat San Jose State. Air Force, North Dakota State, and UNLV all won.

USC shocked Ohio State in the Coliseum, saving Lincoln Riley’s job for another week. Oregon beat Northwestern. Illinois edged Maryland. Indiana got by Minnesota in overtime. Washington beat Nebraska. Michigan and Penn State won.

Troy came back from a double digit deficit to hand James Madison University its second straight loss, in Harrisonburg. It was the 1st time Troy had beaten James Madison since 1999. North Texas State won, but Rocky missed seeing it. Even though I reminded him that the game was on ESPN. He was too lazy to change the channel from Nickelodean.
