“What is the greatest invention ever made in America? Some would say the airplane. Others might point to the steam engine or Henry Ford’s assembly line. I submit that our system of government, founded on principles that honor God, is the rising tide that has lifted all these other boats of innovation.
* * *
Our system is far from perfect. But the principle that people should govern themselves through freely elected representatives remains a powerful idea.
Perhaps our greatest achievement is not any single invention, but the experiment itself: a government designed to serve the people, capable of correcting its mistakes, and committed — however imperfectly — to the proposition that liberty inspires greatness.”

–Ned Crosby.
“What we have got to do is not only pass a tax on billionaires, we have got to, from a moral perspective, take on that concept that greed is good. Greed is not good. Love and compassion is good. Empathy is good. But billionaires who have more money than they can spend in a thousand lifetimes, who say, I need more and more and more and I don’t care what happens to ordinary people, we have got to take that on full steam ahead.”
–Senator Bernie Sanders (I. Vt.), calling for higher income taxes, a wealth tax, and eliminating billionaires in the United States.
But, but, but . . .
“I have never understood why it is ‘greed’ to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else’s money.”
–Economist and Hoover Institution Fellow Thomas Sowell.
The Democrat Left casts the pursuit of work, and the wealth it produces, as greed, while treating their own desire to take that wealth as a virtue.
For too long, conservatives have let people like Bernie Sanders get away with a warped account of the virtues of command economies and the sins of free enterprise. That failure has been compounded by an education system that too often gives short shrift to Milton Friedman and classical economics, favoring European-style redistribution and Keynesian frameworks instead.
Right in line with Bernie Sanders’s philosophy, House Democrats are promising to permanently restore Obamacare subsidies. What fun! You, Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer, will get to pay for your healthcare and someone else’s healthcare too!
Representative Jamie Raskin (D. Md.) called Elon Musk an “immigrant” who “never really inhaled the real values of our country.” Sigh. Mr. Raskin is hardly an exemplar of the “real values of our country”.
Indeed, Representative Raskin threatened American oil executives with criminal prosecution and 20 year imprisonments if they imported any Russian diesel fuel. This even though such importation would be legal under the law given President Trump’s waiver of the sanctions (as permitted by law). Representative Raskin is such a . . . Bolshevik!
“I’m introducing the Truth and Accounability Commission to hold the Trump administration and Trump family accountable for their crimes. No one is above the law.”
–Representative Ro Khanna (D. Ca.).
Senator Alex Padilla (D. Ca.) is calling for investigations into Elon Musk. Former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich called for the “nationalization” of all of Elon Musk’s companies, and the “confiscation of his wealth”.
Are you voters paying attention? The Democrats are dead serious.
Democrats are openly embracing socialism, and are running unapologetic socialists, and even communists for Congress. Young people, usually college “educated” are enthusiastically pro-socialism. Well let us look at socialism. What have Karl Marx’s teachings actually produced?
The results of politicos implementing Marxism were, a) Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, who killed 10–100 million of his own people, b) Pol Pot, Cambodian dictator who executed about 3 million of his own people (more than 1/3 of the entire Cambodian population), and c) the Chinese regime, which executes Christians at a staggering rate, and with Mao Tse Tung having murdered about 60 million people.
Let’s also not forget the identity of the socialist party leader in Germany from 1921 to 1945, Adolf Hitler; the party’s official name was the National German Socialist Workers’ Party. Historians estimate that at least 17 million people lost their lives, both directly and indirectly, as a result of that political movement.
What kind of teachings are found in Marx’s Communist Manifesto?
- The abolition of private property.
- Heavy progressive income tax.
- The abolition of rights of inheritance.
- Advocacy for a central bank.
- Government ownership of communication and transportation.
- Government ownership of factories and agriculture.
- Government control of labor.
- Corporate farms, regional planning.
- “Free” education for all children in public schools, and the combination of education with industrial production.
Remember Vladimir Lenin’s purported promise about state education? “Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik [communist] forever.”
So, you want to be a Democrat socialist, and try Marx’s failed ideas again? Are you ready to go hungry, maybe to the point of starvation, like those in Soviet Russia and Red China? Are you ready to give up all your rights including your right to private property? If you answered “no” to any of these questions, then you might want to reconsider your decision to be a socialist, communist, or Marxist. Perhaps you should consider . . . being a Republican.
Campaigning for the Muslim Brotherhood candidate in Michigan, former President Obama blasted the high cost of healthcare. Whoaaaa! Was not Obamacare supposed to lower the cost of healthcare?
Former President Obama also claimed that Iran was in a stronger position than before the United States attacked it in February. Objectively, that is just wrong. And it is anti-American for a former U.S. President to publicly make that claim. But it also overlooks that President Obama’s policies did strengthen Iran’s position as a Middle East power, and that his policies were designed to do just that.
The Abdul El-Sayed campaign is running commercials blaming Israel for the high price of eggs and bananas. Those damn Jews! They run the world!
By the way, the price of eggs and bananas are not up. I bought both just the other day at Harris-Teeter.
New York City Comrade Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D.) released a video informing city residents that they do not need an ID in order to vote. Sigh. Why not just send car services to round up all the illegal aliens and transport them to the polls?
California’s Proposition 4 is asking the electorate to approve public financing of political campaigns. Great! More welfare for politicians!
A professor at the University of California (Berkeley) refuses to grade his students’ homework assignments, as the vast majority of them use Artificial Intelligence to write their answers. Oh, my!
In the 1st month of law school, Holland was involved in a group project, in which one of the students–a girl Holland knew from undergraduate days–proposed that they use AI to do their project. Holland immediately pushed back, submitting that the use of AI was, in effect, cheating. The other student replied that she used AI all during her undergraduate studies, and she did not see a problem. That other student is not going to make it as a lawyer. No way.
The Massachusetts lesbian bar, The Last Ditch, is closing. Apparently the furor over its decision to me face mask optional on Saturday nights was too much to overcome. So in a rural community with only 1 lesbian bar, the lesbians shut it down. Ha! The Left always eats its own.
McDonald’s McRib sandwich is coming back. Again. I do not get the attraction.
Before its nationwide rollout, the McRib will only be available in select locations. So you need to go online to the McRib locator to find where you can buy the sandwich. Sigh. Again, I do not get the attraction.
The commie won the Brazilian presidential election. *#$&%!
Heather Dinich has got to be ESPN’s dumbest commentator. And that is truly saying something.
“There’s a lot of teams getting beat, a lot of teams getting beat on the road and the toughest teams and the teams that can battle back from losses or tough moments like this are the ones who are going to be the ones standing at the end. I have a lot of confidence in our team and in our guys that when we’re at our best, we can beat anybody.”
–University of Southern California head football coach Lincoln Riley.
Enough with the excuses.
Hey, Lincoln, it’s late October and your team still hasn’t beaten anybody. What do you have to say about that?
FIRE LINCOLN RILEY!
