SEPTEMBER 16, 2026

“Do all you can to preach the gospel and if necessary use words!”

–St. Francis of Assisi.

Our national anthem–The Star Spangled Banner–is 212 years old. It was written on September 14, 1814, by Francis Scott Key, as he sat on a British warship in the Patapsco River, just down from Baltimore’s Fort McHenry. He had gone to the warship to negotiate a prisoner exchange, but was delayed in returning by the British’s planned attack on Fort McHenry.

Throughout the night, the British Navy bombarded Fort McHenry. Smoke was heavy in the air, explosions were unending, and surely nothing could withstand the withering British assault. But as the Sun rose in the East, Francis Scott Key could see in the distance the American flag waving defiantly in the distance. The Americans had held the fort. As he sat on the deck of the British warship, Francis Scott Key scribbled the words of the poem on the back of an envelope that would become our national anthem.

There is, periodically, a movement by the Left to change our national anthem, to something more . . . peaceful. The movement always fails, and may it never succeed. Because we are Americans. We are descended from a defiant people, a country born from revolution, and strengthened by fire in the crucible of war. We should never shrink from our heritage. Because we are Americans. May we always be worthy of those who came before us.

Lame duck Representative Thomas Massie (R. Ky.) introduced impeachment resolutions against Secretary of War Hegseth, over the Iranian conflict. He does not have the courage to go after President Trump, the Commander in Chief, so he is going after Secretary of Hegseth. Sigh. Thomas Massie is a jerk, and is determined to be a jerk to the very end.

Representatives Ayanna Pressley (D. Ma.) and Puddin’head (D. N.Y.) are demanding that the federal government investigate the outbreak of lynchings of black folks across the South. One problem. There are no instances of lynchings of black folks across the South. And there have not been since the Democrat Party quit conducting lynchings decades ago.

Now to be fair, a young black woman was found dead, hanging from a tree in Mississippi. She was murdered, but not lynched. She was murdered by her boyfriend, who hung from a tree to make people think that white “crackers” had committed a racial crime. And her boyfriend? He is black.

“I think our only hope is an attack on US soil . . .  preferably Alabama, Louisiana . . . where the stupid people live.”

–Democrat North Carolina House of Representatives candidate Shelly Headen.

Yesterday we discussed Shelly Headen’s desire to put all Trump supporters in the ovens at Dachau. And today she calls for an enemy attack on the United States? Preferably where all those “stupid” Southerners live?

Do you think Shelly Headen realizes that North Carolina is a Southern State?

“I think there are some folks that would think that if you deny your child’s gender identity, that’s incredibly harmful.  And whether or not we label it with the term abuse, it’s abusive for sure.”

–U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico (D. Tx.).

James Talarico. The gift that keeps on giving.

“What if we ran our world like we run a kindergarten classroom? Because at the end of the day, aren’t we all just really big kindergarteners?”

–James Talarico.

No. No we are not.

What happens in kindergarten rooms?  Your day is dictated to you by the teacher, including when you take a nap, eat, and go to the bathroom.  We all have to line up and hold hands to walk down the hallways and conformity to rules is expected.  What a grim vision.

We know that Democrats want to run our lives from cradle (if they allow us to be born) to grave (after they euthanize us), but this is insane.

At a campaign event, a supporter asked James Talarico who was his favorite drag queen performer. Mr. Talarico actually answered, quickly, identifying Alyssa Edwards. Alyssa Edwards is a man who performs as a drag queen at children’s events. Sigh. That is so sick.

“I’m always so thrilled when I get invited to the Diwali festival.  I think I’ve gone two years in a row now.  And also have gotten a chance to speak at some of our local mosques.  And I find such wisdom and comfort and inspiration from faith traditions all over the world.  And I find that they’re all kind of equal pathways to truth.  That’s how I always think of all the world’s faith traditions as like a circle with that divine mystery of the universe in the middle, and we all have different names for that mystery, whether it’s God or Yahweh or Allah or Nirvana, the Great Spirit, whatever you call it.  This is all different pathways to the same fundamental truth of reality.  It’s how I try to stay grounded and stay rooted.”

–Seminary student, self-professed super Christian James Talarico.

WHOOOOOOAAAA! That is not what Christianity teaches.

“I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”

–John 14:6, where Jesus Christ explains the path to Heaven.

Yep. That is how I remember it. Mr. James Talarico is wrong.

James Talarico was in Los Angeles, California, where he was interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel. He bashed Republicans for relying on “billionaires” for campaign funding, and claimed that all his campaign funds came from “hard working Texans”. Really?

Well, why was James Talarico in Los Angeles in the first place? He was attending a joint fundraiser with Senator Jon Ossoff (D. Ga.), where each candidate hauled in lots of cash from . . . billionaires.

In fact, the vast majority of James Talarico’s campaign cash is from California. Not hard working Texans.

James Talarico has conducted 5 fundraisers in California. Billionaire, Trump hater, and Jeffrey Epstein pal Reid Hoffman “lent” Mr. Talarico’s campaign $10 million.

Mr. Talarico recently claimed he never seriously claimed that there were 6 biological sexes. He did. He claimed that he never advocated for gender affirming care (i.e. genital mutilation surgery). He did. He claimed that he never opposed banning boys from playing in girls sports. He did.

James Talarico has the testosterone level of a soggy soda cracker. He is so weak, so pathetic. In other words, James Talarico is the perfect Democrat man. If he actually is a man.

Bo French (R. Tx.) is running for a seat on the Texas Railroad Commission. Bo French has noticed the effect of mass immigration from Third World countries on our States and institutions, and had the poor grace to actually comment on it. For that he is being falsely portrayed as a bigot. Former George W. Bush advisor Karl Rove is now condemning him and openly advocating for electing the Democrat candidate. Sigh. This is not a surprise. Bush Republicans have always been “Democrat Lite”.

Having brought up Democrat Lite, Senator John Cornyn (R. Tx.) compared MAGA to the Democrat Socialists of America. This is a man who wanted everyone to think he was “Mr. MAGA” until he got scorched and lost the Texas Republican Senate primary. Now MAGA is socialist? John Cornyn is just another bitter Bush Republican loser.

Governor Hair Gel (D. Ca.) says that he will not run for President in 2028 if Commiela does. Coward. He knows he is toxic. But more toxic than Commiela? Ouch!

“We stand with our immigrant families, and we will not stop doing so.  We are valuing the families of those that have been displaced and removed.”

–Arlington County, Virginia Board of Supervisors Chairman Matt de Ferranti, explaining why the Board approved the payment of taxpayer dollars to support illegal alien families with family members in detention and facing deportation.

How about payments to families with family members facing prison for other crimes? Hell, why not just confiscate all country residents’ monies, and redistribute it to those whom the Supervisors deem deserving?

Governor Abigail Spanberger (D. Va.) fired the entire Virginia Parole Board when she came into office, and replaced its members with her own appointees. Under former Governor Youngkin (R. Va.), no violent criminals received parole. But under Governor Spanberger . . . let’s just say the illegal aliens who commit violent crimes can now associate with Virginia citizens who also commit violent crimes. Because the new parole board has a much different agenda than the old parole board.

“It’s going to be the 50th anniversary of the death of Chairman Mao, the loss of perhaps the greatest historical figure of the 20th century.  What he does is exactly what Marxism is supposed to do.  He takes an analytical method, the methods of dialectical materialism, historical materialism, and he investigates and he writes a lot about, you know, if you don’t investigate, then you don’t have the right to criticize.  We have to investigate.

“As Marxists, as communists, as revolutionaries, we can’t just take a theoretical proposition and say, this is how we’re going to go forward.  We have to apply materialist analysis to our actually existing circumstances.  This is the great insight and this seeking truth from facts, socialism with Chinese characteristics, Marxism with Chinese characteristics, whatever you want to call it, it’s the living practice, the ongoing practice, the practice that has allowed China to pursue its course of socialist construction, allows leadership like that of Xi Jinping to continue to adapt, revise, advance the work of the party, the work of the state, the work of the people in building a new China, a new future for China, for the people of China, and for the people of the world.

So when we come together today and we think about Chairman Mao 50 years on, and the continuing changes in the world, all of this is grounded in his intellectual endeavors, as well as his practical organization, his ability to pursue the dialectic of theory and practice, and through that materialist process, make the breakthroughs, have the insights to lead a successful revolution and start the process of building a new China.”

–New Mexico State University Professor Ken Hammond.

Can we give New Mexico back to Mexico? On condition, of course, that they have to keep Professor Hammond.

Artificial Intelligence company Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said it has “always been very strange” that AI is being built by private companies rather than the government, an arrangement he said makes him uncomfortable.  Asked whether he would be willing to hand the technology over to government control, Amodei said he would consider it “to the right combination of governments.”  However, he quickly added that a single government could abuse AI just as easily as a single private company, and clarified that he was envisioning some form of “joint governance” rather than a straightforward handover.

Where is all this AI panic coming from? AI is going to take all our jobs, AI is going to kill us all, AI, AI, AI, AI! This is all overblown, and is eerily similar to nuclear winter, global warming, and climate change. And like everything else from the Left, it all leads to more government control over our lives. The last thing we need is “joint governance” by governments over anything.

Officials in Paris, France dismissed female employees from working at the Eiffel Tower during a visit by a Hindu organization from India. The dismissals were temporary, as the visiting Hindus requested that they not be exposed to any female employees while touring the attraction. It seems the presence of women offended their sensibilities.
