“People do not expect to find chastity in a whorehouse.  Why, then, do they expect to find honesty and humanity in government, a congeries of institutions whose modus operandi consists of lying, cheating, stealing, and if need be, murdering those who resist?”

–H.L. Mencken.

Is anyone out there having fun? On vacation? Playing tennis or golf? Perhaps fishing? Or just enjoying an ice-cold lemonade? I hope so.

“You see a lot of haters got a lot of things to say about me and my race and how I ran it, but the reality is that there was a lot of racism — not a lot — it was racist.  It was a racist race.  It is what it is, right?  But we live in America as y’all are celebrating 250, okay?  We know what this country is.”

–Representative Jasmine Crockett (D. Tx.), still very bitter over her failed Senate race.

The Observations understands why Jasmine Crockett is bitter. After all, she lost to a “trans” soy boy, who lies about everything.

“When it comes to answering the question of what America owes black women, the answer is everything.  When we think about the sacrifices that black women have made, from the moment we were stolen from our homelands and transported into this country, to the fact that black women continue to stand as the backbone — specifically of the Democratic Party — we know that black women are always the ones doing the labor, but we are also the ones that are the first targets of any harm.”

–Representative Jasmine Crockett (D. Tx.).

Congress will be a lot quieter when she is gone, later this year.

“I said there are times when I walk into a community and I see American flags all over the community and I suddenly feel unsafe because there’s a section of this country that has co-opted the American flag, and they equate being an American or an American flag with white supremacy and that should never be the symbol of White supremacy, but they have weaponized.”

The View’s Sunny Hostin.

The American flag makes her feel unsafe? Sigh.

“As America marks its 250th with misgivings and malaise, how about if we seek inspiration from the Nordic model going forward?  I traveled to Scandinavia to understand how these countries achieve prosperity and a high degree of equality — while also becoming the happiest places on Earth.  As Norway’s finance minister, . . told me: ‘We actually live the American dream . . . The American dream, it’s more reality in the Nordic countries than in America.’”

The New York Times columnist Nicolas Kristof.

Could these people hate our country more? I do not think so!

“You don’t know how hated your country is… America a frightful place… it’s becoming a threat to humanity”

–British journalist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown.

But for the United States of America, you would be speaking German. Mean old wench!

“July 4, 2026, exposed the fundamental divide in American politics today. One side sees the United States as an exceptional nation worth defending and advancing. The other treats it as a project still in need of radical reconstruction, an idea that requires apologizing for the very people and principles that built it.

This November’s elections will be a referendum on which vision prevails. If we fail to deliver strong support for candidates who love America without apology and put its citizens first, we risk installing more voices like Mamdani’s in positions of real legislative power. That would mean more of the same: lectures instead of leadership, grievance instead of gratitude, and a steady erosion of the pride that has always defined us.

America at 250 deserves better than half-hearted celebrations laced with regret. It deserves leaders who still believe in her greatness, and will fight to preserve it. The choice this fall could not be clearer.”

–Mike Robertson, writing at The American Thinker.

A former girlfriend of U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner (D. Me.) is accusing him of rape. Mr. Platner has now cancelled his scheduled campaign appearances. Hmmm.

Democrats who previously overlooked Mr. Platner’s Nazi tattoo, communist affiliations, police bashing insults, marital infidelity, and accusations of past sexual indiscretions, are now running away from him as fast as possible. They are hypocrites. Graham Platner has always been an immoral, indecent Neanderthal. But Democrats thought he might beat Senator Susan Collins (R. Me.). Now that Democrats have concluded Mr. Platner cannot win, they are throwing him aside.

BUT, radical Leftist author Stephen King is standing by Mr. Platner. Rape, communism, and Nazi tattoos are no deterrent to his support!

“We expressed not wanting to celebrate the 4th this year, as we’re embarrassed, afraid, and disappointed in what this country has become.  MAGA is adversarial.  It’s a cult of unintelligent, rabid, immoral sycophants. Those conservatives who still have rational thought have left the MAGA movement.  Those who remain and continue to support the most corrupt administration in our nation’s history, are here, wishing for our bakery to burn to the ground.  Enjoy a little taste of this Americana.”

–statement of Flower Mound, Texas Hive Bakery.

I’ll bet their bread is stale. America hating Leftists!

“I authored the Right to Boycott law, which is a bill that is a clean repeal of the state’s current anti-BDS [boycott, divest, sanction] legislation and if Wisconsin is going to be a state that actually values human rights, then we have to ensure that we’re . . . fighting for the pro-Palestine movement and that folks understand that the liberation of Palestinians is intrinsically tied to the liberation of all of us.”

–gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong (D. Wi.).

A new report out blasts The Smithsonian Institute for rewriting our nation’s history, denigrating those individuals who played important roles in the nation’s development. For example, no discussion of the Founding Fathers is permitted without emphasizing their connection to slavery. Sigh. Politics ruins everything. But in the case of our nation’s history, politics is damn dangerous and destructive.

What do Wisconsinites need to be liberated from?  And why should Wisconsinites support terrorists?  Hmmmm.

Microsoft is slashing thousands of jobs. The company is undergoing a massive restructuring.

Did you know that 41% of the costs of beer are taxes? Federal, State, and local taxes drive up the costs of beer by that percentage, on average, throughout the United States. That is outrageous!

Venezuela’s earthquake death toll continues to rise. The death toll now exceeds 3,500, and the search continues for thousands still missing.

Iran fired 2 cruise missiles at tankers sailing through the Straits of Hormuz. Those people want to die. They really do.

The President is attending a NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey. There he indicated that he would be lifting U.S. sanctions against Turkey. Unnamed members of Congress are outraged. Aren’t they always?

While attending a World Cup watch party in Tucson, Arizona, Senator Mark Kelly (D. Az.) proudly wore a Mexican national team soccer jersey. Huh. Interesting that any American, much less a United States Senator, would embrace a foreign competitor.

Belgium beat the United States, knocking the men’s team out of the World Cup. Still a good run for the USA.
