Why won’t Jay Jones abandon his campaign? Because power over his fellow citizens is the most important thing in his life. Because he feels superior to his fellow citizens, and dismisses their concerns over his evil and inexcusable behavior. Because not one fellow Democrat has, or will, call for him to step aside. Not one.

Where are Virginia’s 2 all so pious U.S. Senators, Mark Warner (D.) and Tim Kaine (D.), who are always lecturing Republicans on decorum, civility, etc.? As quiet as church mice. Both Senators donated significant funds to Jay Jones. They are supporting him, because they want power for their party.

I grew up in a family of Democrats (very conservative Democrats!). Decency towards your political opponents, your fellow citizens, heck all people, was practiced and expected. I cannot imagine the Virginia Democrats of the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and even the 1990s (the early ’90s) tolerating even a portion of Jay Jones’s behavior.

Today things are different. Ambition, power, and control are everything to the radical Socialists that have taken over the Democrat Party. Until these people are smashed and destroyed (politically, figuratively, not literally), things will not improve. They will only get worse.

If Virginia voters reward the Democrat ticket, from Governor down to delegates, given this horrible behavior, they will rue the day. I am hopeful, but not confident, that justice and decency will prevail on November 3.

The Trump Administration proposed a Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education. It was an invitation extended to 9 of our country’s most selective universities, including in the State of California. The Compact conditioned future federal funding on academic freedom, stopping racial discrimination in admissions and hiring, prohibiting men from playing in women’s sports, thus upholding federal law, and making college more affordable. That is what Governor Hair Gel objects to in his statement.

The federal Centers for Disease Control recommends against getting the Kung Fu Flu “vaccines”. Because they are not vaccines. They do not prevent you from catching the Kung Fu Flu.

Under China Joe and Attorney General Merrick Garland, Special Counsel Jack Smith spied on Republican members of Congress. The federal government monitored telephone calls of Congressional members who questioned or voted against the certification of the 2020 presidential elections. WOW! This makes Watergate look like an ice cream social at the Methodist Church.

Chicago, Illinois Mayor Brandon Johnson (D.) established “ICE Free Zones”, in an effort to thwart efforts to arrest and deport illegal aliens. That is going to be an epic fail; we settled this question in 1865.

The Chicago Police Department is refusing to permit officers to respond to violent situations involving ICE agents. Police dispatch recordings confirm that the order has come down from the top that police are to stand down and not assist ICE agents in distress.

Federal agents arrested Chicago gang leader Juan Espinoza Martinez, charging him with murder for hire. Mr. Martinez offered a $10,000 reward for the murder of the local Border Patrol Commander.

Chicago and the State of Illinois are suing the federal government to stop the deployment of National Guard troops in the city, claiming that the situation is not dire, and troops are unnecessary. The Complaint further states that any violence is the result of ICE agents enforcing federal law. How absurd!

A federal judge also found it absurd. The judge declined to enjoin the Trump Administration from sending National Guard troops to Chicago.

Chicago’s St. Paul and the Redeemer Episcopal Church parishioners are upset that a member of their congregation–an illegal alien–has been arrested, and is being held for deportation. They are protesting at ICE facilities, claiming that the enforcement of the law is unjust. Of course they are.

New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani (D.) admitted that while he was studying in Egypt, he saw women protesting for their rights taken aside, beaten, and raped. And he did not lift a finger to intervene, stop the madness, or alert authorities. This is the man who wants to lead New York.

Country singer Zach Bryan released a new song, condemning ICE, the enforcement of our nation’s laws, and the Trump Administration. Interesting career move. Will ditch digging be in his future?

On ABC’s The View, Whoopi Goldberg urged all Americans to darken their skin, speak with a Spanish accent, and then approach ICE agents to test if they are arrested. She never misses an opportunity to bash our country, or to be a complete a$$.

The elderly man brutally attacked and victimized by Mark Sanchez has filed a civil lawsuit against the soon to be former FOX Sports broadcaster. Hmmm. Just when will FOX Sports get around to firing him?

Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of Hamas’s horrific attack upon Israel. Hamas commemorated the occasion by firing missiles into Southern Israel from Gaza.

The United Kingdom’s Green Party wants to abolish “private landlordism”. Tenants would be given first right to buy when a landlord sells, with their “total rent paid discounted” and government-backed financing provided. Local Town Councils would be given second right to buy.  Rent controls would be imposed. And evictions for non-payment of rent would not occur. It would be the abolition of the right to private property.

What the Left wants to impose in Great Britain is abominable. But do not think it cannot happen here, because many aspects already are present in the United States. The Left has never met a regulation that it did not wish to impose.

IT REALLY SHOULD NOT BE THIS HARD. In Portland, Oregon, a federal judge ruled that the federal government could not federalize the Oregon National Guard in order to protect the local ICE Detention Facility. The judge found that the protests were “mostly peaceful”. The facts belie this finding. For more than 100 nights, anti-ICE protestors have surrounded the ICE Detention Facility, hurled rocks and Molotov cocktails, assaulted ICE employees and agents, followed ICE employees and agents leaving the facility to go home, and vandalized the facility. Last weekend the Portland police arrested a reporter covering the violence for creating a disturbance. The “disturbance” was that the demonstrators were beating the reporter, and destroying his recording equipment. The Portland police did not arrest a single demonstrator.

In response, the President ordered 300 California National Guard troops to deploy to Portland to protect the ICE Detention facility. Governor Gavin Newsom (D. Ca.) sued, and that very same judge ruled that the President could not deploy any troops to Portland, as the protests were “mostly peaceful”, and the Portland police had the matter well in hand.

The Portland police do not have the matter well in hand. The protests are not “mostly peaceful”. There is an active rebellion going on in Portland, against federal authority. This federal district judge has decided that she has the wisdom, knowledge, and the authority to determine whether it is appropriate to use troops to protect federal property. She does not. She has exceeded her authority.

So while Portland burns, and federal authority is challenged, we wait on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to intervene. But we should not have to wait. IT REALLY SHOULD NOT BE THIS HARD.

Representative Hakeem Jeffries (D. N.Y.) challenged House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson (R. La.) to a televised prime time debate on the federal government shutdown. Why? All Democrats know is performative politics. No substance whatsoever.

The Democrats want to funnel welfare benefits to illegal aliens. It is in their counter-legislation. The Democrats want to keep funding at pandemic levels. The Democrats want to subsidize insurance companies. The Democrats want to to fund PBS and National Public Radio. The Democrats are for bigger, socialist government. They are not on the side of the American people.

Representative Eric Swalwell (D. Ca.) told CNN that when the Democrat Party regains power, it will target everyone and every institution that worked with, or supported, President Trump. This includes private citizens. This includes you.

He should not be elected to public office. He really has no place in polite society. He should just go away.

Virginia gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger (D.) taught at a Saudi Arabian run private school in Northern Virginia, post 9-11. The school was attended by Muslims, only, taught students to revile “infidels” (non-Muslims), and many of the students’ parents were Hamas members. When asked about this, Abigail Spanberger said she “was proud” of her work at this school. Oh, my. Vote accordingly.

New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani (D.) vowed to eliminate the “gifted and talented” program in New York City public schools. Mr. Mamdani thinks the programs are “elitist”, “racist”, and “insufficiently inclusive”. He prefers a socialist, “one size fits all” program where each student receives an equally lousy education.

New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill (D.) told a reporter that she could not imagine anyone eating a pork roll, because they are “gross”. Oh, my. Pork rolls are a New Jersey favorite, often consumed at breakfast. She might as well have been campaigning in eastern North Carolina and proclaiming that barbecue was best served with ketchup. MAJOR GAFFE!

In March 2024, 3 Muslims vandalized a protestant church in Dallas, Texas, with graffitti, motivated by their hatred of Israel, and the church’s support of Israel and Jews. Prosecutors filed criminal charges, with a “hate crime” enhancement. Now the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) is demanding that the criminal charges be dismissed, as they violate the defendants’ 1st Amendment rights. CAIR argues that the defendants’ attack on the protestant church was motivated by their love of Islam, and that it was a part of their free exercise of religion. CAIR also argues that the defendants’ maintain a 1st Amendment right to vandalize the church with graffitti, as it is how they express their views. WOW!

Ian Roberts, the illegal alien who was, before his arrest, the Superintendent of the Des Moines, Iowa public schools, lied about having a PhD. Worse, it seems that Mr. Roberts has quite a lengthy criminal record, not just related to immigration. Apparently Mr. Roberts committed many violent crimes in the United States, and back in his native Guyana, was a member of a government sanctioned gang called “The Death Squad”. Can you imagine what crimes The Death Squad committed?

Still, the Democrat controlled Des Moines school board supports Mr. Roberts, and does not want him deported. We would ask who vetted Mr. Roberts before hiring him. But the better question seems to be who in the world voted for these school board members?

Amazon owns the James Bond movies franchise, and so far that new ownership is not serving fans well. Amazon has been dithering on who will be the next James Bond, with much discussion on “diversity” (how about a black, trans dwarf?). But the latest machinations are just plain silly. Apparently Amazon thinks James Bond is too violent, and has air brushed all images of guns from the movies’ promotional materials, including the iconic movie posters. So what is Bond going to do, talk Blofeld into abandoning his evil schemes?

Former USC and New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was stabbed in Indianapolis, Indiana over the weekend. Mr. Sanchez was in town to broadcast for FOX Sports, an NFL game. Mr. Sanchez initially told police he was attacked by a man in an alley, wielding a knife. That may be a half truth. What actually appears to have happened is that Mark Sanchez left a local bar, drunk, and wandered into an alley where an elderly man was loading used restaurant grease onto a truck. For some unexplained reason, Mark Sanchez took great umbrage at the truck being parked in the alley, and he then attacked the elderly man. The elderly man tried to fight him off, to no avail, so he stabbed Mark Sanchez with his knife. Mark Sanchez wandered off, bleeding, and was eventually taken to an Indianapolis hospital. Where he was arrested. Mark Sanchez beat this elderly man bloody, for no apparent reason, causing serious bodily harm to the man, who remains in the hospital himself. The elderly man is facing a long and painful recovery. Mark Sanchez is facing multiple criminal felony charges.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is under investigation by the NFL for his conduct during the Cowboys/Jets football game on Sunday. It appears that Jerry Jones thought it amusing to flip his middle finger at a bunch of Jets fans. How very rude! What a jerk!

ESPN benched sports analyst Paul Finebaum, a conservative Republican, for his comments about how Charlie Kirk was an inspiration to him. Meanwhile ESPN sports analyst Stephen A. Smith, a liberal Democrat, is going strong at the network. Hmmmm.

Bad Bunny, the anti-American rapper from Puerto Rico (a part of the United States), who is designated to perform at the Super Bowl’s halftime show, went on Saturday Night Live, and advised the audience that they had 4 months to learn Spanish, in anticipation of his half time show. English returned last night from Dallas, Texas. She flew down on Friday evening to visit Holland. Dudley and I spent a pleasant enough weekend together. He was not pleased at English’s absence, but he soon enough realized that there were perks associated with being nice to me. Who says you cannot teach an old dog new tricks?

CNN’s Kaitlin Collins is outraged that Republicans are not taking Democrats’ criticisms against the memes being put out by The White House. The 1st meme shows Hakeem Jeffries wearing a sombrero and a Frito Bandito moustache. It is not “racist”, it is funny. Even funnier is the latest meme which portrays Donald Trump as the frontman for the band Blue Oyster Cult, playing a rendition of the song Don’t Fear The Reaper. J.D. Vance is playing the drums, and Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought is the Grim Reaper, moving through Washington, D.C. cutting spending and government programs. You should go on the internet and view it. It will give you a chuckle.

And that is the problem. Democrats have no sense of humor. Representative Hakeem Jeffries said that the memes prove that Republicans are not taking the shutdown seriously. No. It proves that the Republicans are not taking you seriously. Lighten up, Francis!

For more than 100 consecutive nights, the ICE detention facility in Portland, Oregon has been besieged by violent ANTIFA attacks. Local police were either instructed or were unable to provide any assistance to the federal facility.

In Broadview, Illinois, riots at the ICE detention facility forced the deployment of State and local police, to protect the facility and federal agents. My goodness!

But that is not going to last. Broadview’s Police Chief is vowing to use bulldozers to destroy a fence ICE erected around its detention facility to protect the facility, its employees, and the detainees. Broadview’s Police Chief is decidedly anti-ICE.

As is reflected by Broadview’s municipal leadership, who denied entry to a municipal building to federal officials. The federal officials wished merely to use the restroom facilities. They were told to go to a gas station.

Over the weekend in Broadview, 10 cars, some occupied by armed indviduals, surrounded ICE vehicles, rammed 1 ICE vehicle, and boxed the ICE vehicles in, preventing them from moving. An ICE agent opened fire, and wounded a woman armed with an AK-47.

She penned an op/ed for The Los Angeles Times where she revealed that she is “intersex”, and was concerned that she might have to teach “the lie that there were only 2 sexes”. Oh, my! Professor Davis ought to be more concerned about her Obamacare policy covering her obvious mental illness.

In Indianapolis, Indiana, a man with 99 previous criminal arrests was released from pretrial detention after being charged with attempted murder. The Democrat prosecutor then reduced the attempted murder charge to assault. Outrageous.

Interestingly enough, the Indiana man did not serve any time incarcerated as a result of 99 previous arrests and convictions. Not a day. And it seems that he will serve no time as a result of #100.

Did Virginia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger condemn Jay Jones specifically, or call on him to drop out of the race? Why, no. No she did not. Because just days earlier, Abigail Spanberger called on her supporters to “fuel the rage”, and resist the Republican agenda.

In London, England, Moussa Kadri attempted to stab a man who had publicly burned a copy of the Koran. Kadri shouted “I’m going to kill you” as he jabbed at the man, and later told the police that he was just out to “protect my religion.” Mr. Kadri was released from custody with no charges pending. The stabbing victim, however, was criminally charged with intending to cause harm to Islam. Wow. Is it any coincidence that the British Minister of Justice is a Muslim?

Hamas’s military chief has rejected President Trump’s peace plan for Gaza. This will not end well. For Hamas.

Hamas’s leadership seems to be of a different mind, and has promised to release the remaining 48 Israeli hostages, 20 living, 28 dead. Maybe. Maybe not. Hamas also wants to continue to negotiate terms. No hostages, no leverage.

Clemson got tired of losing, and took out its frustrations on North Carolina. Unbelievably, Virginia won a road game at Louisville! Duke pounded Cal. SMU beat Syracuse. Wake Forest won. Miami dominated Florida State.

UCLA beat Penn State. Penn State is done, stick a fork in them. Ohio State beat Minnesota. Maryland began its traditional October swoon, giving up a 20 point lead and losing to Washington. Michigan beat Wisconsin, and Illinois beat Purdue.

San Diego State beat Colorado State. Wyoming lost to UNLV. Fresno State beat Nevada. Boise State lost to Notre Dame. Air Force lost to Navy.

The Wyoming game was very entertaining. It was played on a snow covered field, and but for a lousy officiating call, Wyoming was on the comeback trail. Still, all in all, a great college footbal experience.

BYU downed West Virginia. Texas Tech beat Houston. Cincinnati beat Iowa State. Coach Prime’s Buffaloes lost to TCU.

The silliness in Washington, D.C. continues. It is times like this that I wish I lived somewhere else.

On the other hand, with a government shutdown, there is less traffic. That alone is worth tolerating the silliness. And if we are fortunate, maybe some of these Democrat bureaucrats will abandon Northern Virginia for their ancestral lands of New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

Today I am sharing 2 articles with you. The first article, from The Wall Street Journal, identifies the cause of the shutdown, and the importance of the Republicans not caving into Democrat pressure. The second article is from The Washington Times, where columnist Don Feder discusses Democrat rhetoric. Both of these articles are timely, well written, and provide insight to the issues of the day. The Government Shutdown Stakes for the GOP

Will the party extend pandemic ObamaCare subsidies that enrich health insurers?

As we write this, Washington seems headed toward the ritual melodrama of a government shutdown. But the stakes in this case are about more than political gamesmanship. Democrats are manufacturing a panic over ObamaCare subsidies that will test if Republicans have any stomach to curb runaway entitlements.

Democrats are warning of higher premiums if the GOP doesn’t extend turbocharged ObamaCare subsidies that expire at the end of the year. GOP leaders are already hinting that they are open to negotiating, and some are floating ideas that would give Democrats much of what they want. “I don’t love the policy, OK?” Speaker Mike Johnson said recently. “But I understand the political realities.” Oh, oh.

Mr. Johnson is correct that the subsidies are bad policy, though it would help if Republicans told the public the reasons. The super-charged subsidies first passed in 2021 for a Covid-19 emergency that ended long ago. Democrats juiced the subsidies for everyone, while also opening up the spigot to those earning above 400% of the poverty line.

Democrats set a 2025 expiration date to make the Inflation Reduction Act look less expensive over a 10-year budget window but fully expecting that Congress would extend the subsidies again. No Republican voted for that bill, but now some are too frightened to let the super-subsidies expire.

Despite what you may read, letting them expire wouldn’t gut the Affordable Care Act. Someone at 100% of the poverty line would still on average pay merely $3.45 a week in premiums for the cheapest middle-tier plan, according to Brian Blase of Paragon Health Institute and Trevor Carlsen of the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA). Taxpayers would still pay 98% of the premium.

The cost would run roughly $52 a week for a person at 250% of the poverty line, with taxpayers picking up more than two-thirds of the premium. These are reasonable contributions to a health plan, as most people who get insurance from private employers understand. Nearly three in four ObamaCare enrollees are below this income level.

Making these plans “free” has allowed insurers to get paid for people who may not even know they’re enrolled. Some 40% of those in fully subsidized plans had zero claims in 2024, Paragon and the FGA estimate, a number that can’t be explained merely by healthy people not using their insurance.

Democrats don’t mention that the sweetened subsidies are attracting more Americans to the ObamaCare exchanges from better employer coverage. Messrs. Blase and Carlsen cite Congressional Budget Office data estimating that the expanded subsidies would reduce employment-based coverage by four million people. Do Republicans want to endorse that cost transfer to taxpayers?

Extending the subsidies would cost roughly $450 billion over a decade, even if Congress disguises the cost with another phony expiration date. The Trump Administration is wasting its time cutting a few billion dollars in foreign aid if it acquiesces to a half-a-trillion-dollar transfer to health insurers.

The GOP in Congress could at least try to talk about giving Americans more and better health insurance choices. The Trump Administration recently announced new rules letting more people purchase a less expensive catastrophic plan on the exchanges, versus only those under age 30 now. It’s a start—not that President Trump ever talks about it.

Republicans fear the politics of healthcare and are nervous about defending their changes to Medicaid in their big budget bill. One certainty: Ratifying ObamaCare subsidies won’t defuse those attacks.

Democrats want to make extension of the subsidies the price for reopening the government. But every

Republican has voted to keep the government open, while Democrats are voting against funding it.

Many Republicans voted for Mr. Trump’s tax bill in June in part because he promised to restrain future spending. Giving Democrats some of their half-a-trillion-dollar subsidy demand would betray that promise.

Louisiana Gov. Huey Long, Democrat and Depression-era populist, predicted in 1935, “When fascism comes to America, it will come under the guise of anti-fascism.” This prophecy is coming true before our eyes.

This year, Democrats are calling everyone who disagrees with them a Nazi or a fascist while facilitating evil.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz charges that President Trump is “a fascist to his core.” Former Vice President Kamala Harris agrees. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the silver-tongued Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who calls Mr. Trump a “Temu Hitler,” are among the Democrats who have twisted reality to reach the preposterous conclusion that the twice-elected president of the United States is Der Fuhrer.

Not just Mr. Trump but also his supporters are smeared in this ugly fashion.

President Biden warned that “MAGA Republicans” are “a threat to democracy,” during a 2022

Independence Hall extravaganza eerily reminiscent of the 1930s Nuremberg rallies, with its lurid lighting.

Charlie Kirk’s assassin wrote on one of his bullet casings: “Hey fascist! Catch!” Like Kirk, fascists were famous for their eagerness to debate critics.

As a clone of Adolf Hitler, Mr. Trump fails miserably. The president never tried to sabotage the democratic process, unlike Democrats, who worked to keep his name off the ballot in several states in 2024 and used lawfare to keep him off the campaign trail. Mr. Trump doesn’t ignore the courts, unlike his predecessor, who proceeded with student loan forgiveness after the Supreme Court told him it was unconstitutional.

Unlike so many other of our recent presidents, Mr. Trump kept his oath of office by securing the border, after 6.7 million entered illegally under Mr. Biden.

By declaring antifa a major terrorist organization, Mr. Trump is moving decisively against a gang that poses the same threat to America that the brownshirts did to Weimar Germany.

Antifa goons attack police and immigration officials, beat opponents and turn our cities into war zones.

Another leftist insurrection was the 2020 riots (20 dead, $2 billion in property damage), which the president’s critics either ignored or applauded.

The left is following a script that was written in the 1930s, when communists started calling their opponents fascists and presenting themselves as the only alternative to fascism.

In reality, the two ideologies are first cousins. Both reject capitalism for a planned economy. (Not for nothing were the Nazis called the National Socialists.) Each believed the interests of the individual must be subordinated to the collective.

Italy’s fascist dictator, Benito Mussolini, declared: “Everything within the state. Nothing outside the state. Nothing against the state.” President Franklin D. Roosevelt, a liberal icon, admired Il Duce until Mussolini became an ally of Hitler.

Mr. Trump wants to reduce the size and scope of government. He wants less taxes and regulation and more private control of the economy, the very opposite of fascism.

So, the MAGA crowd are Nazis, huh? Nazis who support private ownership of firearms? On coming to power, Hitler confiscated guns from his enemies. Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15”) would have made a great Gauleiter.

I’m afraid the left has us dead to rights.

We’re Nazis who want less government, Nazis who believe parents should control their children’s education and Nazis who support Israel and abhor antisemitism. Hitler would have had us expelled from the National Socialist Party.

The Nazis and communists weren’t polar opposites but rather rival gangs that started from the same premises.

Democrats think conservatives are fascists because they don’t understand fascism and never understood us.

We are the true heirs of Democrats such as Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson and Harry Truman. The most visible Democrat in America today is socialist candidate for New York mayor Zohram Mamdani, a Marxist who wants to “globalize the intifada.”

Democrats have become the party of statism, group rights and lawlessness, while conservatives remain true to the principles of the Founding Fathers.

At a memorial for Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk said she forgave her husband’s killer. Fascists are all about forgiveness.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom says immigration enforcement agents act like the Gestapo. Last week, a gunman shot up a U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas, killing one detainee and wounding two others. Assaults on ICE agents are up more than 1,000% over the same period last year.

If they had any decency, Democrats would stop the insane name-calling. Loose accusations of fascism are getting people killed.

The federal government has shut down, and it is all the Democrats’ fault. Representative Hakeem Jeffries (D. N.Y.) and Senator Charles Schumer (D. N.Y.) are leading the gang that could not shoot straight. Clowns!

The Left is all consumed by the fact that the Secretary of War issued orders to the military’s flag officers at a joint meeting in Quantico, Virginia. Too expensive, they sneered (since when is costs of government spending a Leftist concern?). Who is the Secretary of War do dictate to these flag officers (he is their boss, speaking for the Commander in Chief)? He is a racist and a misogynist! He does not follow the science, since he dismisses our country’s biggest enemy, climate change! Our favorite criticism came from The Washington Post columnist Karen Tumulty who wrote that Secretary Hegseth wanted to return to the days of the Tailhook Scandal. Funny, nowhere in his remarks was that mentioned.

The truth is that under Presidents George W. Bush, Obama, and China Joe, the military was transformed into a politically correct structure, where women could serve in combat, men could wear dresses, promotions were based on immutable characteristics, as opposed to merit, and where every Leftist socialist experiment could be implemented. The military celebrated “Pride Month”, for goodness sakes!

Now under President Trump, the United States military will return to a warrior culture, and its core mission of protecting our country. The military will now kill our enemies and break things, instead of having bake sales where commendations are awarded for the best rainbow flag decorated cupcakes.

Senator Cory Booker (D. N.J.) whined that President Trump’s language against Democrats was “dangerous” and put “lives in danger”. Oh, wow! “Literally Hitler, fascist, authoritarian, dictator, totalitarian”, etc., etc. are all terms hurled at the President specifically, and at Republicans generally, by Democrats. Leftists have shot at President Trump twice, and murdered Charlie Kirk. No MAGA supporter has taken a shot at Democrats. So sit down and shut up, Spartacus!

The China Joe Administration instructed the Transportation Security Administration to place Americans on the “No Fly List”, or to subject them to heightened scrutiny in security lines, where those Americans resisted or protested mask mandates during the former Current Unpleasantness. But Trump is the “threat to our democracy”.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ordered a rehearing, en banc, of a decision blocking the deportation of Venezuelan gang members under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. This is good news, as it appears that a majority of the appeals court disagrees with the decision.

A federal judge in Boston, Massachusetts ruled that the Trump Administration illegally targeted anti-Semitic, pro-Hamas aliens for deportation, calling it a violation of their “free speech” rights. Never mind the intimidation and threats against Jewish students, faculty, and the destruction of private property on college campuses. We must allow foreigners–guests in our country–to behave as badly as they want. Good grief!

Oklahoma’s highway patrol partnered with ICE and arrested 120 illegal aliens who were operating as over the road truck drivers. Thank you, China Joe.

One of the worst discoveries in the Oklahoma operation was the finding of New York State Commercial Drivers Licenses which were issued to “No Name Given”. That is right. In New York State, if you do not have supporting paperwork, they still give you the CDL, and simply stamp “No Name Given” on the license. More than 20% of issued New York State CDLs are to “No Name Given”. What are we doing in this country?

Virginia Attorney General candidate Jay Jones (D.) was convicted of reckless driving, 116 mph in a 65 mph zone. Mr. Jones called it a “mistake”, and said that he paid his fine and served over 500 hours of community service. That’s interesting; where did Mr. Jones give 500 hours of his time? At his own political action committee, that’s where. Sigh.

America’s Team has dismissed Manager Brian Snitker from his role, bumping him up into an executive advisory role. Hmmm. I don’t think this is the best idea. Under Snitker, over 10 seasons the Braves won a World Series title, 6 NL East titles, and made the playoffs as a wild card in another season. Only Managers Bobby Cox and Frank Selee have produced more wins for the Braves.

As a consolation, Brian Snitker will be inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame. Well, there’s that.

The Democrats are infuriated that the Republicans will not add $1.5 trillion in more spending to the House passed continuing resolution. They visibly tremble with rage, accusing Republicans of wanting a federal government shutdown, and to strip millions of Americans of healthcare. The Democrats are full of it.

First, there have been no cuts to Medicaid. Medicaid spending is actually increasing. What has changed about Medicaid is that 1) illegal aliens are no longer to receive it; and, 2) able bodied Americans have got to go to work, instead of lying on the couch in their parents’ basement watching Oprah.

Second, the Democrats are lying about Republicans eliminating Obamacare subsidies. These subsidies were part of emergency Covid pandemic spending. There is no more pandemic. Moreover, the Inflation Reduction Act, passed by the Democrats, with no Republican votes, is the legislation that eliminated these Obamacare subsidies. Stated differently, Democrats killed the subsidies, and they are lying to the American people that the Republicans did it.

Why should some subsidize others’ healthcare? Where is that in the Constitution?

Oh. And the Democrats are also demanding the funding of National Public Radio and Television. Please notice that no one on cable news is telling you about this demand. Hmmm.

President Trump gave Hamas a choice, accept his peace plan, or Israel finishes the job of obliterating the terrorist organization. A rejection is likely coming. Hamas never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Secretary of War Hegseth met with the military’s flag officers yesterday, informing them that strict military standards were returning, there were going to be no more “fat generals and admirals”, racial quotas were gone, as is “woke culture”. The U.S. military’s purpose is to kill our enemies and break things. It sounds as if it will be returning to its historical roots.

Dover, New Jersey Mayor James P. Dodd (D.) is backing the Republican gubernatorial candidate in this year’s election. Mayor Dodd says he is tired of crime, high taxes, sanctuary policies for illegal aliens, and other Democrat positions. GOOD FOR HIM!

Mao Tse Tung’s Cultural Revolution was a campaign to rid China of “capitalist roaders” and enforce ideological purity.  The CCP branded landlords, intellectuals, and traditionalists as enemies and dehumanized them through propaganda.  Fueled by slogans like “to rebel is justified,” the Red Guards conducted “struggle sessions,” where they publicly shamed and tortured victims like the writer Lao She, who was beaten and possibly murdered.  Many zealots were recruited from colleges and universities by their instructors.  Ironically, many of those same professors were later targeted by the very students they had recruited.  In Guangxi, zealots took this vilification to grotesque extremes, going so far as to engage in cannibalism.  These acts were not spontaneous, but orchestrated.  Traditional culture was annihilated, Confucian temples were torn down, Buddhist relics burned, and opera banned as bourgeois.

The CCP’s rhetoric justified the violence, framing capitalists as subhuman threats, leading to massacres like Dao County’s 9,000 killings.  This systemic dehumanization left China scarred, with institutions hollowed out and a “lost generation” exiled to re-education camps.

Some of that sounds disturbingly familiar.  Although we haven’t seen incidents of cannibalism, or people being tortured and murdered in public, we are seeing college students attacking their Jewish classmates.  We’ve seen Democrat party leaders and media influencers openly calling for violence against members of law enforcement, conservatives, and Republicans, calling them “fascists,” “Nazis,” and threats to democracy using “Gestapo-like tactics.”  Some Democrats have called for Trump-supporters to be sent to re-education camps.  Maxine Waters urged supporters to publicly confront Trump officials, while Kamala Harris praised “mostly peaceful” riots that caused billions in damages and dozens of deaths.  Jesse Kelly likened Democrat rhetoric to jihadi programming, warning that it primes followers for violence.  The White House blamed Democrats’ “Gestapo” rhetoric for a 1,000% surge in assaults on federal agents.  Legacy media outlets like CNN and MSNBC continually frame conservatives as dangerous, much like how CCP propaganda vilified capitalists.  China’s suppression of dissent created echo chambers that fueled division, much like what passes for news programming on legacy media outlets.

The return of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to the airwaves was a huge success. For 2 days. Since then, the show has lost 64% of its audience. Because Jimmy Kimmel is neither funny nor interesting.

Iran agreed to accept the deportation and repatriation of 120 Iranians who illegally entered the United States. It is a start. WINNING!

The National Football League chose rapper Bad Bunny to headline its Super Bowl halftime show. Horrible decision. Who listens to Bad Bunny? Former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey is charged with lying to Congress and obstruction. There is little, if any, doubt that he is guilty of that and much more. But he takes umbrage that he would be subjected to the criminal justice system. It’s not like he is Roger Stone, who was charged with the exact same crimes, and was rousted from his Miami Beach home in the early morning hours by an FBI SWAT team, all being filmed by CNN (tipped off by the FBI). No, James Comey was allowed to self-surrender, and was immediately released. A federal judge imposed a gag order on Roger Stone, lest he influence the jury pool, a gag order that is still in effect years after his conviction and sentencing. There is no gag order against James Comey, and he is out there lecturing us all on his innocence.

What about Peter Navarro? A Trump advisor, Mr. Navarro was taken off a plane at Reagan National Airport, handcuffed, and shackled in front of all present. He was treated like a Mafioso. His crime? He asserted executive privilege in response to a Congressional demand for testimony.

Lt. General Michael Flynn, decorated veteran and former Trump National Security Advisor, went through hell during a criminal prosecution for lying to FBI agents. FBI Director James Comey sent the agents to The White House, acting through unofficial channels, in order to see if he could take out General Flynn. Don’t believe it? James Comey bragged about it on MSNBC. It was a big joke to him, to ruin a man’s life and career. In the end, General Flynn was forced to plead guilty in order to protect his family with promises of retribution from James Comey. He lost his career, his savings, his house, and his reputation. James Comey thought this was funny.

Paul Manafort was confined to his Alexandria, Virginia home (pretrial) after it was thoroughly searched by the FBI, and eventually went to prison for not registering as a foreign lobbyist. The very same law that Hunter Biden violated, but for which he was never arrested or charged. Mr. Manafort went to prison. Hunter Biden hung out in The White House sniffing cocaine.

Letitia James charged Donald Trump with mortgage fraud, claiming he overvalued his properties when seeking loans. Forget about the fact that banks do not take a borrower’s word as to the value of their collateral, always doing their own assessments. Forget about the fact that the banks were all repaid in full, and profited on their business relationship with the Trump Organization. No, no, no. The paperwork was faulty, and therefore Donald Trump and his sons committed crimes. So for Letitia James to be criminally indicted for lying on her mortgage paperwork is just unfair. She’s a Democrat, don’t you know?

Similarly, it boggles the mind to think that Adam Schiff, a Democrat Representative and now Senator from Burbank, California, could claim a Montgomery County, Maryland home as his primary residence. In order to constitutionally qualify to represent California, Mr. Schiff’s primary residence MUST BE IN CALIFORNIA! So to call attention to his obvious mortgage fraud is just petty and mean. It is not as if he will be held accountable for his leaking of classified materials during the Russia! Russia! Russia! hoax, or his lying, or . . . . No, thanks to China Joe’s pardon, Adam Schiff is off scot free!

Finally, there are the federal prosecutions of Donald Trump. Mr. Trump was pursued by an illegally appointed special counsel, Jack Smith. Readers may recall that Jack Smith previously went after Governor Robert McDonnell (R. Va.), bankrupting him and his family. The United States Supreme Court unanimously vacated Governor McDonnell’s conviction, 9-0. But Mr. Smith was back, and he had Donald Trump in his sights. Did you know that Donald Trump took documents with him to Mar-A-Lago when he left The White House? Just like every other President in history took documents with them when they left The White House?

But when Donald Trump did it, well . . . . An FBI SWAT team raided Mar-A-Lago, and ransacked former President Trump’s residence. They made a spectacle of the raid, had it televised, and righteously proclaimed that “no one is above the law!” But apparently former President Trump was beneath the law. It did not matter that the documents at Mar-A-Lago were all declassified–but, but, but, Donald Trump did not follow the bureaucrats’ procedures! He did not have to, he was the President. It did not matter that Mr. Trump held the highest possible security clearance at the time. The Democrats fixed that, by having China Joe revoke Mr. Trump’s security clearance. No, all that mattered was “we have to get Trump!”

Following Mr. Trump’s indictments, James Comey and others were all over television, pontificating about his misdeed, and relishing in his impending convictions and imprisonment. China Joe directed Mr. Trump’s prosecutions, and even stated that it was imperative to “get Trump” so that he could not run for president in 2024. But all this was okay. The Democrats were in charge, and they were on the side of the angels. That is, they would be if they believed in God, which I seriously doubt.

The difference in the treatment of Republicans and Democrats in the media, and in the criminal justice system is stark. Take the example of the “leaking” of Valerie Plame’s identity during the George W. Bush Administration. There was nothing illegal about leaking the identity of a desk jockey from Langley, Virginia. But Deputy Attorney General James Comey insisted that there was a “there” there, and appointed his buddy, Patrick Fitzgerald to investigate and prosecute the offender. AT THE TIME OF MR. FITZGERALD’S APPOINTMENT, both he and James Comey knew that the leaker was Secretary of State Colin Powell’s advisor, Richard Armitage. Richard Armitage was never identified, or charged, or prosecuted by Patrick Fitzgerald.

But people went to jail. News reporter Judith Miller spent 85 days in jail for refusing to reveal her confidential sources. Vice-presidential aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby was convicted of perjury, and sentenced to prison, losing his reputation, freedom, and his law license. What was his lie? He did not lie. He testified differently than did NBC reporter Tim Russert. Patrick Fitzgerald decided that since he believed Tim Russert was telling the truth (and Tim Russert wavered on the accuracy of his testimony), then Scooter Libby must be guilty of perjury. AND PLEASE REMEMBER, all of these legal machinations are over an allegation of illegal leaking Valerie Plame’s identity to Washington Post columnist Robert Novak, and the leaker, Richard Armitage, was known to Comey and Fitzgerald before their investigation got underway!  They never pursued Richard Armitage!

The hypocrisy, the intrigue, the backstabbing, and the double standards in Washington, D.C. absolutely are a cancer on our republican form of government. Elected officials, bureaucrats, and news pundits–almost uniformly Democrats, with some squishy, spineless Republicans–will do anything to maintain their power, prestige, comforts, and positions. They are not serving you, the American people. They are serving themselves.

So please spare us all the hand wringing, moaning, groaning, and protestations over the current criminal prosecutions of public officials. Your whining is nauseating, your hypocrisy glaring, and your stupidity knows no bounds.

President Trump is not engaged in retribution, or breaking constitutional norms, or perverting the criminal justice system to punish his political “enemies”. President Trump is holding the previously unaccountable, accountable. Let justice prevail.

President Trump ordered the deployment of federal law enforcement to Portland, Oregon. Portland has become a Third World country, and is in such bad shape, it may be more than our federal government can do to restore it to a modicum of safety.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth shut down his predecessor’s efforts to strip the Medal Of Honor from decorated soldiers fighting in the suppression of the Sioux Indians. Under China Joe, and led by Senator Elizabeth “Lieawatha” Warren (D. Ma.), the Democrats attempted to label brave soldiers fighting our enemies to protect American citizens as disgraced “racists”. Thanks to Secretary Hegseth, this disgraceful act will not be carried out.

The United States Supreme Court ruled that the Trump Administration can withhold billions in foreign aid. WINNING!

A federal grand jury in Virginia issued a criminal indictment against former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey, for lying to Congress and obstruction of justice. Under the law, Mr. Comey is entitled to the presumption of innocence. But outside the judicial process, Mr. Comey has proven himself to be a self-important egomaniac, who lies serially, and has no problem with weaponizing the federal Department of Justice against those with whom he disagrees. This is a career long hallmark of Mr. Comey’s, dating back to the Clinton Administration. Mr. Comey is a bad person. He helped orchestrate the biggest scandal in American political history–the Russia! Russia! Russia! hoax–, covered up for the very corrupt, and quite guilty, Hillary Clinton, and tried to destroy the lives of General Michael Flynn and his family. Karma is a b**ch. And “no one is above the law.”

Sounds like a threat to me. A hypocritical threat, but a threat nonetheless.

Senator Bernie Sanders (I. Vt.) decried what he called “political pressure” by the Trump Administration to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live! So why would Senator Sanders write a letter on his Senate letterhead to Nexstar, demanding that the company put back Jimmy Kimmel Live! at its ABC affiliates? Sigh. No sense of irony. None whatsoever.

Commiela’s book tour is not going well. First, no one is buying her book. Second, a recent appearance was interrupted by protestors screaming “Free Palestine!” Third, the book’s theme, and her talking points make clear that she is not president because of the “racism” and “sexism” of the American people. Nothing could be further from the truth. The American people rejected Commiela because she was, and remains, an incompetent boob. Just like China Joe.

Millions of dollars originally donated to former President Obama’s presidential library have been funneled to a Left wing group to fund anti-Semitic causes, including the protests at college campuses, calling for “Free Palestine”. Sounds like money laundering.

How dire are the funding resources at the Obama library? It has only $1 million in reserve funding. It contracted with the city of Chicago to have $750 million. Illinois and Chicago taxpayers may soon be paying for the Obama library. And paying, and paying, and . . . .

Savannah Antao is a pro-life activist who was peacefully presenting her views on the streets of New York City [Manhattan]. There she was brutally beaten by Brianna Rivers, who is virulently pro-death, and was offended by Savannah Antao’s views. The NYPD charged with Miss Rivers with felony assault and battery. District Attorney Alvin Bragg reduced those charges to a misdemeanor. His office then dismissed the case altogether. Censorhip, Democrat style.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (I.) is dropping out of the mayoral race. Can Andrew Cuomo overtake the commie? Doubt it.

In Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, a deranged man shot up a church, killing and wounding congregants, and then set the church ablaze, trapping more congregants inside. Pure evil.

At a waterfront restaurant about 30 miles South of Wilmington, North Carolina, a gunman pulled up in a boat, and sprayed the dining crowed with bullets, killing 3 and injuring 8. The evil gunman was quickly arrested by the U.S. Coast Guard.

North Carolina State Senator Marcia Morey (D.) said that “there was no correlation” between the murder of Irnya Zarutska and the release of her murderer from jail. Really? How do you figure? Because if her killer had not been released from pretrial detention, he would not have had the opportunity to murder her.

Ian Roberts, the Des Moines, Iowa Public Schools Superintendent, was arrested by ICE. Mr. Roberts is an illegal alien, subject to a deportation order. He was in possession of a handgun and thousands of dollars in cash. How in the world does this happen?

In Chicago, Illinois, Border Patrol boats are patrolling the city’s rivers and Lake Michigan. There is nothing Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D.) can do to stop it.

The usual suspects have come up with yet another plan to ease “climate change”. Now the Chicken Little crowd wants to explode sulfur particles in the atmosphere, in an effort to block the Sun’s rays. That, they say, will stop “global warming”. That will also harm the planet, particularly plant life on which all life depends. These people are Looney Tunes.

In Atlanta, a new coffee and speciality beverages store is opening called Daybright. Daybright is owned by a Chick-Fil-A subsidiary, though it will sell no items found on the Chick-Fil-A menu.

Southern Living magazine named JIF the best peanut butter. Well, they got something right!

Sinclair Broadcasting chose to begin airing Jimmy Live! again on last Friday. So did Nexstar. The companies’ choice. I am already asleep at 11:30 p.m. And I do not watch the Washington, D.C. ABC affiliate unless it is airing college football.

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was convicted of criminal conspiracy and sentenced to 5 years in prison. That’s a shame.

Members of the United Nations General Assembly walked out on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to the body. Anti-Semitic cowards!

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the remaining General Assembly delegates that the creation of a “Palestinian State” would be an act of “suicide” by Israel. Just so. That is undoubtedly a fact.

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont (D.) is distraught that the State’s WNBA team might move to Boston. Governor Lamont’s solution is to have Connecticut invest a large sum of money in the team, in return for an equity position. He claims that the State government employees pension fund will benefit greatly from such an investment. Ned Lamont is a dolt. Connecticut’s government employees pension fund is already largely underfunded, and sinking more funds into a losing proposition such as the WNBA is a recipe for disaster.

East Carolina waxed Army, 28-6. Dru is finally cheering for a winning team!

The University of Virginia unbelievably beat Florida State. WOW! And now UVA is ranked #24 in the nation; what were the writers drinking when they took that vote?!? Pittsburgh and Wake Forest both gave up 17 point leads, losing to Louisville and Georgia Tech, respectively. Stanford and California won.

Alabama went to Athens and collared the dogs. Ole Miss felled LSU. Mississippi State just fell short against Tennessee. South Carolina beat Kentucky. Texas A&M beat Auburn.

The University of Southern California Trojans decided to end the suspense, and tanked their season early, at Illinois. Oregon beat Penn State. Indiana beat Iowa.

Arizona State beat TCU. Houston just got by pitiful Oregon State. Coach Prime cannot be happy as his Buffaloes lost to the Mormons. Iowa State beat Arizona. Baylor beat Oklahoma State.

New Mexico beat New Mexico State. Hawaii beat Air Force. Washington State beat Colorado State.

Yale beat the Cornell anti-Semites. Harvard beat Brown. Princeton beat Lafayette. Dartmouth and Columbia won.

Congratulations to Team Europe on winning The Ryder Cup at Bethpage Golf Course in New York. All players fought hard, sometimes falling short, always with good sportsmanship, win or lose.

Shame on the patrons at The Ryder Cup, for acting like a bunch of European soccer hooligans. And we are talking about the Americans’ behavior. Heckling abounded, profanity was hurled at the players, before, during, and after their shots. It was a classless, disgraceful way to treat our guests. The behavior was so bad that the starter at the 1st tee was forced to resign after Day 2 when she used her microphone to join the drunken crowd in screaming profanities at Rory McIlroy.

Washington, D.C. attorney Robert Barnett has died at age 79. R. I. P.

Joanne Chesimard, aka Assuta Shakur, who murdered a New Jersey State policeman, escaped from prison, and made her way to Cuba, has died at age 78. May the justice she avoided in this life be meted out to her in the next.

Yesterday Microsoft cut off all support to my version of Outlook. Therein was all the content, addresses, and research that makes up The Observations. It was a great shock, came with no warning, and I personally am quite unhappy.

Notwithstanding the failures of the commie company founded by Bill Gates (of which I have been a loyal customer since 1999), The Observations will continue. It will likely assume a different form and format, and may require readers to go to it, rather than have The Observations to come to them. For this inconvenience, if it happens, I apologize. We have prided ourselves on providing convenience to our readers, even Dru.

Going forward we are committed to providing a superior product, each day of publication, to our readers. We welcome your readership, your input, comments, praise, and criticism. Free and reasoned debate is a hallmark of Western Civilization, and of the United States in particular (recent events notwithstanding).
