That has always been the law. Congress made it illegal. Remember Congress? You served in that body. And what did you think the phrase “illegal alien” meant? Abigail Spanberger is too stupid to be Governor of Virginia.

The United States Department of Justice is suing Rhode Island for launching a loan forgiveness program for public school teachers who are not white. Caucasians must pay back their loans.

Indiana University cancelled the print edition of its student newspaper, and fired the student editor, after the editor refused to censor the news as demanded by the administration. What happened to free speech?

The North Carolina legislature voted to redraw Congressional legislative districts, adding another likely Republican district. Oh, that is so sad.

Benjamin Campbell was extradited from this Georgia home back to North Carolina to face criminal charges. It seems that Mr. Campbell was driving down the road in Nantahala Gorge, North Carolina when he noticed a Trump flag flying in front of Mark Thomas’s home. Mr. Campbell stopped, tore the flag down, and began firing a gun at Mr. Thomas and his house. More senseless Leftist violence.

The Texas Secretary of State announced that a preliminary review of some voting rolls revealed almost 3,000 illegal aliens registered as voters. WAIT A MINUTE! Have not the Democrats been telling us for years that this was not happening? It is illegal, say the Democrats, for non-citizens to vote in American elections. Yes. But it is also illegal to sneak across the Southern Border. And under China Joe it happened every day. And many of them are still here. Illegally.

In Portland, Oregon, the “We Hate America” rally quickly evolved into a full scale riot, aimed at breaching security at the ICE Detention Center. Shocking.

Leftist organizations spent more than $294 million to assemble about 700,000 (it was not 7 million, as Leftists claim) septuagenarians and assorted hipster doofus hangers on to protest . . . what? The election of Trump? The detention of criminals and illegal aliens in Portland? Having to work for their welfare benefits? What exactly do these people want? Because they definitely are incapable of articulating their grievances.

In Los Angeles, California, an illegal alien attempted to murder ICE agents by ramming his vehicle into their vehicle. A shoot out resulted in minor injuries to the illegal alien and a U.S. Marshal. In other words, it was a “mostly peaceful” arrest of someone just trying to provide for their family and live a better life.

Kathy Griffin loudly and proudly proclaimed that Donald Trump and Elon Musk “stole” the 2024 presidential elections, and that Commiela was actually elected President. Sigh. She needs help.

“Climate scientists” are now claiming that whether meat consumption affects the planet and causes “global warming” depends on where you are when you eat it. Oh, please! Where you eat meat matters?

I am a big fan of eating meat at dinner. At the kitchen table. Or a fine steakhouse. And I really do not care if eating a NY strip steak causes “global warming”. In fact, I would welcome “global warming”, particularly in January and February.

President Trump cancelled next week’s meeting with Russian President Putin, after it became clear that Russia would not budge off any of its demands. And so the senseless killing continues.

The last time I saw Mike Jones was at the Bassett Country Club. He was going to breathe some life into that longtime fixture of the Henry County golfing community. Today, Bassett Country Club is a solar farm. That was Mike’s only failed venture, and it was due to circumstances beyond his control.

Mike got into golf while in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He learned the game, agronomy, and mechanics. There was not anything connected with golf he could not do, from teaching to playing to mowing greens to fixing equipment, both golf course maintenance equipment and golf clubs. He was a student of the profession.

Mike spent the bulk of his career at Forest Park Country Club. The golf course was a classic 1920s parkland course, and it was challenging and interesting. There was a problem with maintenance, as the golf course budget was low to non-existent. It was an old club. But Mike Jones managed it as best as anyone could, working with Obie Dillard and a handful of teenagers (including me). The grass was mowed, improvements were made, bunkers were maintained immaculately, and it was a championship venue. So what if you needed to put a metal bolt between 2 ignition points in the engine to get the diesel tractor started? It worked. I used that tractor to mow roughs for years.

Mike could not putt a lick, but he could hit the ball a country mile. One day we were playing, and on the second hole, he was about 165 yards from the green in rough so heavy you could not see the bottom of his pant legs or his shoes. He asked me if I thought he could hit the green with a sand wedge, and I told him “no”. Mike cursed at me, called me names, and took a mighty swing with that sand wedge. It flew out of the rough, and sailed far over the green, almost landing in the Smith River, which was about 230 yards away. I calmly reminded him that I told him he could not hit the green with a sand wedge, which brought me more cursing and name calling. He was a hoot.

One Sunday morning, Mike was playing, and missed a short birdie putt on No. 8, a downhill par 3 of about 170 yards. It was an overcast day, and those of us at the pro shop heard Mike yell, and there was a silver flash of light emerging from the green. It went down the hill, in the rough, between holes No. 9 and No. 7. It was Mike’s putter. He had thrown it a good couple hundred yards, further than some members could hit a driver. Mike strode down the hill, picked up his putter, and threw it back towards the 9th tee. It was vintage Mike Jones.

Mike had been an assistant professional at Chatmoss Country Club before going to Forest Park, and one day he received a call from a golfer in desperate need of help. The golfer was going to play in the Chatmoss Invitational in a couple of weeks, and he wanted help on how to read and putt the greens. Mike graciously gave him his best advice: play golf at Chatmoss every day for 1 year, and at the end of that year, you might figure the greens out.

After leaving Forest Park, Mike spent a brief time at Beaver Creek Golf Course, a public venue affectionately (and accurately) known as the “Rock Pile”. While Mike was there, the course had grass in its fairways–lush, well maintained grass–for the first and only time in its existence. Mike had a way with grass.

Mike was gruff, and he was kind. He was profane, and he was mannerdly. He had an infectious smile, a good sense of humor, and common sense, a trait lacking so badly today. No matter the occasion, no matter the season, he wore a golf shirt, sansabelt golf slacks, and white shoes. He looked like 1971 Johnny Miller, but in perpetuity. He drank Miller Lite, played a mean game of gin rummy, and drove a Chevy El Camino. He was one of a kind.

Mike loved his family and friends. If you were his friend, there was no favor he would deny you. He was a fine fellow. It is hard to believe that Mike is gone, and did not live forever. Michael B. Jones has died at age 78. He will be missed by many. R. I. P.

The Left isn’t protesting a king but their fellow Americans.  They aren’t standing up for democracy — they are protesting against it.  They seem to have forgotten that Donald Trump was democratically elected less than one year ago in an Electoral College landslide, and with a popular majority.

But hey! When you get to associate with like minded folks in demonstrations organized by The Communist Party USA, Move On, Indivisible, and the Young Communists League, why not? Who would want to miss that opportunity? 

The Left actually wants a king. The Left wants the government to provide their healthcare, housing, transportation, food, and retirement. The Left wants the government to tell them what kind of car to drive, and to protect them from speech they dislike. The Left does not seek liberty and freedom. The Left seeks security and protection, and is willing to assume chains to achieve it. The Left would have sided with Parliament and King George III in 1776.

Some leftovers from this past weekend’s “We Hate America” demonstrations. In Washington, D.C., Senators Bernie Sanders (I. Vt.) and Christopher Murphy (D. Ct.) presided over a crowd of septuagenarians chanting “F**k America!” Attendees also called for the murder of Republican lawmakers, and mimicked the death of Charlie Kirk.

A short distance away in my home of Clarke County, the local rally was well attended, as both Democrats showed up. They hugged, and then enjoyed a light lunch at Mario’s Pizza. My friend Gerry reports that in nearby Berkley Springs, West Virginia, there was a major traffic jam, as the streets were flooded with a bunch of white people in wheelchairs and using walkers.

The White House posted an AI created video showing President Trump wearing a crown, flying a fighter jet, and dumping sewage on the “We Hate America” demonstrators. Hilarious!

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D. Ca.) did not attend a “We Hate America” demonstration. But she did release a video showing her tearing up a paper crown, stamping her feet, and cackling like Commiela. Sad.

Critics of President Trump’s war on drug traffickers claim that the smugglers being attacked are not headed for the United States, but rather to Europe and Africa. Well, that certainly makes a difference; NOT!

The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit overturned a District Court judge’s ruling, permitting the Trump Administration to deploy National Guard troops into Oregon generally, and Portland specifically. WINNING!

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon has a long history of advocating gun confiscation, and banning citizens from owning guns. Which makes it strange that Don Lemon has now come out for illegal aliens to acquire guns so as to be able to resist arrest and detention by ICE agents.

Colonel Creole is trying to stay relevant. She now says that she could not remain a Democrat given how horribly the party treated China Joe. Huh. And yet . . . Colonel Creole was instrumental in covering up China Joe’s dementia and decline, consistently stating that he was sharp, hale, and hearty, and any suggestion to the contrary was partisan politics.

NBC’s Kristen Welker asked Senator Tim Kaine (D. Va.) if he would be calling for a Republican political candidate to step down from a race if he fantasized about murdering his political opponents, their families, and police officers. “Absolutely not!” answered Senator Kaine. LIAR!

Virginia Lt. Governor and gubernatorial candidate Winsome Sears (R.) made an appearance at the James Madison University football game in Harrisonburg. While there, a white, racist Democrat yelled at her to “Go back to Haiti!” and called her a “Traitor”. Nice. By the way, a$$clown, Lt. Governor Sears is from Jamaica. She is a naturalized citizen who served our country as a member of the U.S. Marines. What the hell have you accomplished, other than eating every snack in the stadium?

President Trump endorsed Winsome Sears for Governor. Because she is the far superior choice to Abigail Spanberger.

At Illinois State University, a faculty member went up to a Turning Point USA table, manned by students providing information about the organization, and overturned the table, scattering and stomping on the students’ promotional materials. The faculty member justified his actions by claiming “Jesus did it!”, referring to the story of the moneychangers in the Temple. What a sick, vile, twisted individual. No doubt he is on the short list for tenure.

A Horizon High School [Florida] teacher was forced to remove a Charlie Kirk/Turning Point USA poster from his classroom. It was not a political poster, but rather, an inspirational poster, hung alongside inspirational posters of Ronald Reagan and Martin Luther King, Jr. The school admitted that the poster was “not political”, but contended that since Charlie Kirk was a “controversial” figure, the poster was inappropriate. Huh. I am old enough to remember when Martin Luther King, Jr. was a “controversial” figure.

At a Polk’s County, Florida McDonald’s, customers in the drive-thru line became annoyed at the long wait for their food order. Given the norms in 2025 America, the annoyed customers parked, entered the restaurant with weapons, and threatened violence and death if their food order was not immediately filled. In the ensuing scuffle with a restaurant employee, one of the annoyed customers was shot in the neck. He survived, and was arrested with his fellow annoyed customer. Sigh. Remember, fast food is bad for your health.

Joseffa Ippolito-Shepherd, 76, of Washington, D.C. was constantly annoyed by the smell of marijuana drifting over to her home from her neighbor’s house. The neighbor, Thomas Cackett, said he only smoked marijuana occasionally, and only for medicinal purposes. The D.C. Superior Court found that Mr. Cackett’s marijuana use constituted a “nuisance”, and found for Mrs. Ippolito-Shepherd, barring Mr. Cackett from smoking marijuana on his property, or anywhere near Mrs. Ippolito-Shepherd’s property. Mr. Cackett appealed, and low and behold, the D.C. Court of Appeals affirmed the Superior Court decision. GOOD! As the “Reverend” Jesse Jackson used to say, “there is no hope in dope”. Also, marijuana smoke is foul and repulsive.

English returns today from Dallas. She, Gram, and Rufe flew down to party with Holland. Everyone seems to have had a nice visit. No one got arrested, and nothing got broken.

Back in Northern Virginia, Dudley decided to act out. English left the house on Saturday morning at 3:30 a.m. I finally was able to roust Dudley from his bed around 9:00 a.m. He was most unhappy. But then I fed him a nice breakfast of hamburger and eggs. It was a special treat, intended to cheer him up. Which it did; for 5 minutes. Then he was back to being grumpy.

He refused to eat his dinner (though he happily downed his coctail hour peanuts). He then hid while I watched the USC/Notre Dame game. But during the night, and on Sunday, he continued to act out. He was a very, very BAD dog. English’s plane better not be delayed today, as Dudley might not be here when she gets home.

The Observations reported last week that New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill (D.) received campaign contributions from a member of the Chinese Communist Party. Well, we can now report that another Democrat gubernatorial candidate received campaign contributions from that very same CCP member–Abigail Spanberger (D. Va.). Is that not interesting?

Is there any reason to speculate on why the Chinese Communists want Democrats to be elected in the United States? Nope. After all, birds of a feather . . . .

He only apologized because he got caught. Jay Jones is a despicable human being, and deserves no position of public trust. The voters of Virginia should place him, and his whole Democrat ticket, on the ash heap of history.

President Trump commuted the sentence of former Representative George Santos (R. N.Y.). The Left is outraged! He’s not a drug dealer!

Health & Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is calling for Americans to eat more meat, more butter, drink whole milk, and eat vegetables. The Left is horrified. Eat meat and dairy?!?!?! The horrors.

I took Secretary Kennedy’s advice to heart last night. I consumed a steak, mashed potatoes with butter, and a salad. Delicious! MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN!

In Lafayette, Louisiana, the FBI arrested a participant in Hamas’s October 7, 2023 terror attack against Israel. The man was discovered directing and participating in terrorist activities from his Louisiana home. Thank you, China Joe!

In Cincinnati, Ohio, Jonathan Morris got fired from his job at Taco Bell. Mr. Morris returned the next day, where he gunned down and murdered his former manager in the restaurant parking lot. The dead man, Ryan Johnson, leaves behind a wife and 7 children. Sigh. Fast food is so dangerous.

GAFCON announced its dioceses would disassociate with the Anglican Communion. This has been a long time coming. The Episcopal Church USA began the process through the ordination of women, the politicization of the pulpit, and finally the celebration of the sin of sodomy and the redefinition of marriage. The Church of England proceeded more slowly, but surely, in the same direction. And the election of the new Archbishop of Canterbury was the last straw. The Anglican Communion is destroying itself, not in the pursuit of God, but in running away from God, and pursuing earthly, modern secular desires. It is not the beginning of the end. Because the Church is closer to the end than to the beginning.

At the Earl Haig Secondary School in Toronto, Canada, the school played the national anthem, O’ Canada, in Arabic. On October 7, the 2nd anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel. Why not just impose Sharia law and get it over with?

The United States, joined by Russia and Saudi Arabia, and a handful of other nations, narrowly defeated the United Nations’ proposed global carbon tax. The push for the tax was led by China, who is not our friend.

Hamas violated the cease fire multiple times over the weekend, and received a response from the Israeli Defense Force. This is not going to end well.

Hamas is also carrying out public executions of Arabs in Gaza. And Leftists accuse Donald Trump of “retribution”!

Hamas leaders insist that the public executions in Gaza are necessary to maintain order. Hamas leaders also insist that they need not disarm. Israel will be occupying all of Gaza by Thanksgiving.

A federal judge–a radical “progressive” Clinton appointee–has blocked President Trump from implementing executive branch firings. The judge does not have the power to do this, but she does not care. She is too busy playing for her political party’s side. She cares nothing about the law.

The President confirmed that the CIA was involved in covert operations in Venezuela. Why? Isn’t the very point of “covert” to be secret?

Mr. Trump hosted a dinner for donors to the ballroom currently under construction at The White House. Naturally Democrats are fuming.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio put the United Nations on notice that the U.S. was “a hard no” on a global carbon tax. Naturally Democrats are fuming.

Senate Democrats voted to block passage of the National Defense Authorization Bill. This legislation would have, inter alia, paid our soldiers and sailors. But if illegal aliens cannot have “free” healthcare, then our troops will not be paid!

Congressional Democrats are grumbling that President Trump’s repurposing of Pentagon funds in order to pay our nation’s troops is “illegal” and “unconstitutional”. Oh, please! Please, please, please, Democrats. Rush before a Leftist federal judge and obtain an injunction preventing our soldiers and sailors from being paid. Please do it!

On CNN, Puddin’head refused to answer a question about whether she believes illegal aliens should receive federally subsidized healthcare. That’s okay, Puddin’; we know the answer.

A federal grand jury indicted former National Security Advisor John Bolton on criminal charges related to the mishandling of classified documents. MSNBC reported the indictment by listing every criticism John Bolton had ever uttered against President Trump, as if the 2 were related. MSNBC went on to declare that this was “retribution”. Poppycock!

During oral arguments in the Voting Rights case, Justice Black Female compared black voters unable to form a majority black voting district to disabled persons unable to access a building. Ah, yes! Black voters are disabled. And they all vote alike. Because they are black. Sigh. This is what happens when you have a “diversity” pick for the United States Supreme Court.

Former California State Controller Betty Yee (D.) said that “trans” females [i.e. males] are females, and should be allowed to compete in female athletics. Mrs. Yee thinks that men should be allowed to compete in women’s events during the upcoming Los Angeles hosted Summer Olympics.

Last year, Los Angeles County, California voters passed Measure G. Measure G required the County Chief Executive Officer to be an elected, not appointed, position. The current serving, appointed CEO, Fesia Davenport, was quite upset with the voters’ decision. So she demanded that Los Angeles County pay her $2 million in severance, due to the voters’ decision negatively impacting her self-esteem, professional advancement, and professional reputation. The voters hurt her feelings! And incredibly, Los Angeles County paid her the demanded monies. You cannot make this stuff up!

In Chicago, Illinois, 2 illegal aliens rammed their car into an occupied ICE vehicle. The ICE vehicle was then surrounded by a mob, and the ICE agents were forced to defend themselves, using tear gas to disperse the crowd, while they arrested the 2 illegal aliens who tried to kill them. Yet another example of ICE agents causing a problem in otherwise peaceful Chicago.

Also in Chicago’s suburb of Hanover Park, ICE agents arrested a local police officer. He was an illegal alien. Apparently he was doing a job that Americans just won’t do.

How many felon relatives can 1 Attorney General have? Family reunions sure must be interesting.

Pennsylvania U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D.) votes with the Republicans less than 6% of the time. That is just too much, so Democrats are plotting primary challenges to him in 2026. Because there will be no dissent. Even if you agree with the Democrats 94% of the time.

Maine U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner (D.) should really stay off social media. He identifies as a communist, thinks all police are bastards, and thinks all rural Americans are “racist” and “stupid”. Not exactly a winning message.

The United States and Russia will meet in Hungary next week to explore an end to the Russian/Ukrainian War. May it be successful.

One of the Democrat members physically assaulted a Capitol Hill policeman, while surrounded by the other members. Sounds like an insurrection to me. Hmmm.

On Columbus Day [observed], Democrat members of Congress stood in front of the U.S. Capitol and gave speeches denouncing the United States and its “theft” of land from the American Indians. Members of Congress denouncing their own country. Wow!

The 2 miscreants were among the gang that beat DOGE staffer Edward Cortisine, and attempted to assault his female date, and steal his automobile. Judge Briggs justified her decision, stating that it was her job to rehabilitate, not punish. Uh huh. This is why there is a crime problem in the D.C. metropolitan area.

Sakiyna Thompson became infuriated when her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend blocked her on social media. So Miss Thompson did what any normal psychopath would do; she flew from New York City to Florida, and stabbed the new girlfriend to death.

Who is currently living in New York Attorney General Letititia James’s (D.) Norfolk, Virginia home? Her niece, who is a serial criminal, and currently a fugitive from justice in North Carolina. Hmmmmm.

A member of the Chinese Communist Party donated thousands of dollars to Mikie Sherrill’s (D.) New Jersey gubernatorial campaign. Is that not illegal?

Mikie Sherrill has been attacking her Republican opponent for his work in the pharmaceutical industry with companies which manufacture opioids. She has directly accused her opponent of being complicit in the opioid related deaths of thousands of Americans. Well; guess where thousands of dollars of Mikie Sherrill’s campaign donations came from? Opioid manufacturers. Ah, the hypocrisy!

Minnesota Governor Tampon Tim (D.) criticized the Trump Administration’s trade policies, and offered his own view for trade, particularly with China. Governor, the American people heard your ideas in the 2024 campaign, and soundly rejected them. Move on!

Los Angeles County, California declared a “State of Emergency” over a recent surge of ICE raids, resulting in the detention and deportation of illegal aliens. The declaration permits the County to spend taxpayer dollars on those impacted by the ICE raids (i.e. the illegal aliens).

The State of Oregon nows spends twice as much money on providing free healthcare for illegal aliens, as it does on its State Police. That is insane.

In San Antonio, Texas, a violent brawl broke out at a local Whataburger restaurant, when staff served the wrong food order to a group of people. The offended group who received the wrong food order engaged in a prolonged fight with another group, leaving the floor littered with bodies and blood. Good golly Bob! Fast food is bad for your health.

Clarke County, Virginia is seeking to become a “Bee City USA” affiliate. There is never a dull moment here in Berryville.

Matthew Gabriele, a religion professor at VPI, slammed Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA, insisting that open debate was not welcome, and should not be welcome, on college campuses. He went on to celebrate Charlie Kirk’s murder, and endorsed Virginia Attorney General candidate Jay Jones’s candidacy, dismissing Mr. Jones’s call for the murder of Todd Gilbert and his family. But of course he did. We certainly are not employing the best and the brightest at our public colleges and universities.

The Vatican Apostolic Library created a Muslim Prayer Room. Why? Why in the world?

The National Education Association–the nation’s largest teachers union–sent an email to all its members containing pro-Hamas propaganda, and a map of the Middle East that showed “Palestine”, and no Israel. These are the people who teach children in America’s public schools.

The Democrat Socialists of America–think Zohran Mamdani, Bernie Sanders, Puddin’head, et al.–denounced the Israel/Gaza Peace Deal, and demanded the “immediate liberation of the Palestinian people”. Pay attention! These people are telling you who they are, and what they believe. They are serious.

New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani refused to agree that Hamas should disarm, refused to credit President Trump with any success for the Israel/Gaza Peace Deal, and reiterated that if Prime Minister Netanyahu visited New York, he would arrest him. Mr. Mamdani is a dangerous zealot.

At Oberlin College [Ohio], one of the most radical Left wing colleges in the country, students protested the Israel/Gaza Peace Deal, faulting Israel’s “genocide” [of course!]. The protesters eventually crossed the line–don’t they always?–and had to be dispersed by police, which involved the use of pepper spray.

Senator Elizabeth “Lieawatha” Warren (D. Ma.) took credit for the Israel/Gaza Peace Deal. She had absolutely nothing to do with it. And now the Democrat Socialists of America are mad at her.

It turns out that the Israeli hostages were guarded by regular Gazan citizens, and not Hamas soldiers. So much for the whining about “innocent Palestinians”.

Hamas has only returned 4 hostage bodies to Israel. One (1) body was not of an Israeli hostage.

Hamas is holding public executions of its enemies in Gaza. Men blindfolded and bound are led into a village square, and shot by Hamas soldiers in full view of cheering crowds.

Hamas is supposed to disarm. Hamas spokesman Hazzem Qassem stated that Hamas will not disarm. President Trump reminded Hamas of its obligations, and warned of the consequences of the failure to disarm.

Qatar is not establishing an air base in Idaho. FAKE NEWS! What is happening is that Qatar purchased 48 military jets from Boeing, and their pilots are being trained at a U.S. Air Base in Idaho. GOOD MORNING ALL! It is going to be a beautiful day. Even in California where storms are lashing at the coast.

I dislike AT&T intensely. They, not Bill Gates, are the bane of my email existence and torture.

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with AT&T yesterday. The 1st human being I spoke with initially denied that I even had an AT&T email address. I have had it for 30 years. Then he said I had to call back because he could not help me. I asked him to transfer me to a different person. He refused. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He refused.

I eventually called AT&T back, and had to wait 30 minutes for a call back from someone. That call came, and the representative tried to assist me. But he could not do anything. He then asked me to fill out an online form, and when that was done, informed me that someone would call me back some time within the next 6-8 days. You have got to be kidding.

It is very frustrating to be able to receive emails, and not be able to send them. It makes me long for the days before the Internet. But that day is long gone, and there is no returning. So I need to get my email account fixed.

In the meantime, I believe this system of posting The Observations is working. We do not have the same levels of readership, largely due to readers not having the new subscription information. Slowly but surely we are regaining our readers. In the meantime, I ask that if you know an Observations reader, please inform them of the new method of receiving our publication.  Notice that the Constitution does not vest just some of the executive power in the President. It vests all of the executive power in the President. This is a very important concept.

For years you have heard the Democrats discuss, and dismiss, the “unitary executive theory”. It is not a “theory”. It is the Constitution.

So when you hear some talking head on CNN, NBC, MSNBC, etc. opine that the career prosecutors disagree, or that something should be left to the “experts”, or that the Justice Department has been tradionally “independent” of The White House, that is just so much bunk.

The President gets to tell the generals what to do. The President gets to tell the Attorney General whom to prosecute. The President sets U.S. foreign policy.

And no matter what legislation the Congress passes, establishing this independent agency or the other, it is unconstitutional, and violative of the concept of the separation of powers. There are 3 branches of government. Not 4. Not 12. Just 3.

BUREAUCRATS ARE NOT PRESIDENTS

Disgraced and fired former FBI director Jim Comey is finally facing his day in court for having lied while under oath.  Unethical New York Attorney General Letitia James has been indicted on bank fraud charges.  Warmonger and former national security advisor John Bolton might soon be indicted for illegally retaining classified documents.  Russia Collusion Hoax co-conspirator, anti-American communist, and former director of the CIA John Brennan might similarly find himself in the dock.  Notoriously dumb “yes-man,” Russia Collusion Hoax co-conspirator, and former director of national intelligence James Clapper is under criminal investigation.  Former FBI director Chris Wray has been accused of lying to Congress regarding the number of plainclothes agents operating during the January 6, 2021, protest for fair elections.  Other well-known names are being scrutinized for criminal prosecution. 

As each shoe drops, the corporate news media shriek about President Trump going after his “political enemies” and directly involving himself in Department of Justice charging decisions.  A reasonable journalist might wonder how former chiefs within the Intelligence Community could be considered “political enemies” if they weren’t performing their duties in a political manner.  But such an obvious follow-up question is never asked, and instead Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Wray, and other former, powerful officers within the administrative state are described as if they acted, at all times, selflessly and for the good of the country.  

The propaganda press is very concerned about portraying members of the permanent government as being above politics because if the American people understood them to be just as political as members of Congress, then voters might start to wonder why such a vast, unelected administrative state is allowed to exist.  The financial and media elites who control the mainstream press constantly convey to the public the unconstitutional idea that the heads of important departments and agencies act unilaterally and independently.  They pretend that the director of the FBI and the attorney general of the United States do not answer to the president.  They pretend that the CIA and U.S. military operate autonomously from the White House.  Mainstream media “reporters” desperately work to convince Americans that unelected bureaucrats are entitled to wield tremendous power all on their own.  They are not.

Article II of the Constitution lays the foundations for the Executive Branch, and the first sentence of the first section is specific and clear: “The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.”  The first sentence of the second section defines the president’s authority over the military: “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States.”  When it comes to executive authority, all power resides with the president.  Likewise, every Executive employee — from cabinet secretary to parking attendant — acts as a delegated beneficiary of the president’s Executive power.  

It is the president of the United States — not the attorney general — who is the chief law enforcement officer of the federal government.  If President Trump decided to exercise his vested prosecutorial powers, he could try cases in federal courts.  When federal prosecutors enforce the law in courtrooms across the country, they are empowered to do so only because they are acting on the president’s behalf.  When corporate news publications pretend that federal prosecutors are entitled to act independently from the White House, they are willfully disregarding the U.S. Constitution and foisting an illegitimate form of government upon the American people.  

As a simple thought experiment, consider what it would mean if senior officials in the Department of Justice were exclusively empowered to decide how to enforce the law.  It would mean that an unethical attorney such as Andrew Weissmann would be in a position to tell the president of the United States what he can and cannot do.  It would give government lawyers — whose Executive authority comes directly from the Office of the President — more authority than the president.  It would effectively rewrite the first sentence of the first section of Article II of the Constitution into some variant of this: The executive Power shall be vested in Andrew Weissmann or other unethical attorneys who have weaseled their way into becoming career bureaucrats within the Department of Justice.

We saw this illegitimate form of government play out in President Trump’s first term.  During the run-up to the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama had conspired with Intelligence Community officers and White House officials to frame candidate Trump as a Russian spy.  Even though then-FBI director Jim Comey knew these allegations were false, the corrupt law enforcement officer used this frame-up job as leverage against President Trump the following year.  

Conniving career bureaucrats in the Justice Department convinced Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from all investigations involving the manufactured Russia Collusion Hoax.  President Trump eventually fired serial-liar Comey, and career bureaucrat and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (in his capacity as acting attorney general) appointed former FBI director Robert Mueller as a special counsel responsible for investigating the Democrat-constructed Russia Collusion Hoax.  

Unbeknownst to the American people, Special Counsel Mueller was suffering from some form of dementia, so unethical government prosecutor Andrew Weissmann effectively ran a two-year harassment campaign whose ultimate purpose was to impeach President Trump and remove him from office.  During this time, dishonorable lawyer Andrew Weissmann effectively held more power than the president of the United States.

At any time, President Trump could have put an end to this nonsense.  He could have fired his attorney general and deputy attorney general.  He could have fired Mueller and Weissmann.  He could have concluded the whole affair and moved on.  But the pressure from Congress (Republicans included) and the propaganda press for President Trump to comply with the special counsel charade was intense.  Paul Ryan and other congressional RINOs even suggested that Trump would be impeached if he did not permit the manufactured investigation into the Democrat-constructed Russia Collusion Hoax to proceed.  In an effort to keep the peace, President Trump essentially gave corrupt lawyer and staunch Democrat Andrew Weissmann control over the presidency. 

The Weissmann presidency was absurd.  When corrupt lawyers are empowered to tell the president of the United States what he may legally do, the Constitution has been entirely shredded.  Instead of an elected president exclusively vested with Executive power, we end up with an unelected legal bureaucracy that enigmatically delegates a handful of incidental powers to the sitting president.  

The administrative state likes this arrangement.  Permanent government bureaucrats prefer to limit the president of the United States to theatrical performances that include signing ceremonies and kissing babies.  For everything else, they insist, Americans should leave it to the experts.  Let the prosecutors decide whom to indict.  Let the generals and admirals decide whom to attack.  Let the central bankers decide the value of American currency.  Let the spies wage covert wars at home and across the globe.  “Trust the vast bureaucracy,” the bureaucrats say, “because the administrative state is made up of impartial, incorruptible, competent, and well-meaning experts.”

Except there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution about a Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, or Environmental Protection Agency.  These armies of unelected bureaucrats wield power as if they were a separate and unrivaled branch of government.  To the extent that these oversized monsters are remotely constitutional, however, it is only because they exercise delegated powers belonging exclusively to the president of the United States.  

The buck stops with the president, not with the bureaucrats.  Corporate news publications that insist it should be the other way around have no interest in protecting the Constitution.  They seek to undermine it.

The remaining living Israeli hostages were released yesterday. After 738 days in a living Hell, they were reunited with their families. Thanks Be To God!

The Observations was, and remains, skeptical that Hamas would adhere to President Trump’s peace plan. And it might not. History suggests that it will not. But yesterday, and today, and the days going forward are more glorious now that the hostages are freed.

President Trump addressed the Israeli Knesset, and was warmly received, hailed as a giant in Jewish history. The President in turn thanked Prime Minister Netanyahu for his steadfast leadership, and the Israeli people for their strength and fortitude.

We now face either peace in the Middle East, or a pause in violence in the Middle East. Only Time will tell.

But only America could have brokered this diplomatic achievement. And only President Trump, who shattered conventional wisdom, and worked tirelessly to stop the killing and for the hostages’ freedom, could have pulled this off, at this time.

Think of it. Only 2 years ago, Iran was on the verge of acquiring a nuclear weapon. Hezbollah was ascendent in Lebanon, Syria was a hotbed of violence, and Hamas was raining down terror on Israel from Gaza. China Joe was hellbent on restraining Israel, and emboldening its enemies.

Today, Iran’s nuclear program has been destroyed. Hezbollah has been muzzled, Syria underwent regime change, and Hamas appears to have surrendered. Only President Trump, working with Prime Minister Netanyahu, could have accomplished this monumental change of events.

Former Secretary of State Antony Blinken credited China Joe with laying the groundwork for the hostages’ release, and the current ceasefire. Outrageous! That man is a serial liar, and really too stupid to live.

If China Joe were still President, the hostages would still be held in tunnels, and Hamas would be in Jerusalem. Good grief.

Antony Blinken further beclowned himself, announcing that now was the time for a “2 State solution”. No. Wrong. What a foolish idea. This is what comes of a man who spent considerable time in his life living in France.

Great Britain also sought to take credit for the peace in Gaza. Great Britain had nothing to do with what occurred in Gaza. No European country did. In fact, the European surrender monkeys did their best to derail any possibility of peace by appeasing the terrorists.

CNN’s Christiane Amanpour claims that the Israeli hostages were treated better than the Gazans. In what world does this crazed anti-Semite looney tune live?

The Washington Post cites itself as a beacon for democracy. It further claims to be the authoritative source for news on the workings of our federal government and the important policy choices facing Americans. So what is 1 Post reporter working on? She is contacting members of Congress to ascertain if they, and their staffs, will be getting the Kung Fu Flu booster shot. That is real cutting edge journalism!

In New York City, Mrs. Zohran Mamdani, publicly mourned the death of a Hamas propagandist. There is peace in the Holy Land, and the wife of the leading mayoral candidate mourns over the death of a terrorist. BUT IT GETS WORSE! Zohran Mamdani spent the day fundraising for the United Nations Works and Relief Agency. Readers will remember that UNWRA employed Hamas terrorists as a cover for their activities. Sigh.

Mrs. Mamdani’s husband has been receiving foreign cash as campaign contributions. This is against the law. The donors are Middle East Muslims. So far, the candidate has not committed to returning the illegal donations.

Rutgers University students are petitioning the school Administration to disband the local Turning Point USA chapter, because it promotes “hate speech” and “incited violence against our community”. The petition implores the Administration to ban Turning Point USA in order to restore “diversity” and “inclusiveness” at the school. Ah, the irony!

The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Student Government Association blocked the establishment of a Turning Point USA chapter at the school. UTC administrators wisely overruled the students, avoiding a sure fire loser of a lawsuit.

In Dallas, Texas, Keona Hampton shot and killed Cecilia Simpson. Mrs. Simpson failed to properly thank Miss Hampton for holding a door open for her at a retail store, so Miss Hampton followed Mrs. Simpson to PetSmart, and gunned her down in righteous retribution.

For almost 70 years, the Martinsville, Virginia Kiwanis Club has held semi-annual Pancake Breakfasts, which serves as a fundraiser for charitable, largely child focused, endeavors. It is a beloved community tradition, which typically attracts around 3,000 patrons willing to pay $10.00 for pancakes, sausage, and a beverage.

The Martinsville Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast makes sense; pancakes, sausage, and coffee or water. That is a pancake breakfast. And I emphasize the obvious, because pancake breakfasts in Northern Virginia are quite different.

In Northern Virginia, pancake breakfasts feature biscuits, potatoes, bacon, fried apples, scrambled eggs, and sausage gravy. Pancakes are an afterthought. It makes no sense.

The sausage in Southside Virginia is flavorful, with just a little kick of spice. It is delicious. In Northern Virginia, if the sausage were any blander, you would be eating cream of wheat.

The Martinsville Kiwanis Club does pancake breakfasts right. As for all the other stuff that Northern Virginia organizations include in their pancake breakfasts, Gary Collins is right; “we’re not going to do that.”

HAPPY 90th BIRTHDAY to The Texas Inn in Lynchburg, Virginia. The iconic grill has been serving chili, hot dogs, and hamburgers to all comers, from businessmen to factory workers to drunken college students. A British judge sentenced an Ethiopian illegal alien who was found guilty of multiple rapes to 1 year in jail. That same judge sentenced arrested and charged protestors against, and for, illegal alien rapists being coddled, to more than 2 years in prison for creating a public disturbance. Sigh.

The New Kent County, Virginia Commonwealth Attorney is investigating Jay Jones’s community service performance as a result of his reckless driving conviction for driving 116 mph in a 65 mph zone. The Observations reported previously that Jay Jones reported 500 hours for working on his own Political Action Committee, raising money for himself. That is a “no no” under the law.

The polls in Virginia are tightening. If trends continue, the Republicans have a very good chance of retaining their Statewide offices. Let us hope!

The House of Representatives will not meet again this week. What would be the point, as Senate Democrats refuse to fund the federal government?

By the way, the clean Continuing Resolution passed by the House keeps spending at China Joe Administration levels. Yet the Democrats want more.

Senator Charles Schumer (D. N.Y.) said that “every day [of the federal government shutdown] gets better for us”. It is all politics to the Democrats. There is not a principled one of them.

Democrats are insistent that the subsidies for Obamacare must be reinstated. No, they do not.

First, these particular subsidies were implemented only during the former Current Unpleasantness, as an emergency measure. The Current Unpleasantness is over. And the legislation ending these subsidies is the Inflation Reduction Act, a law passed and signed only by Democrats. Democrats ended these subsidies.

Second, these subsidies are not going to “needy” Americans. Some of them are. But some of these subsidies are going to individuals earning as much as $600,000.00 a year.

Third, these subsidies are masking the true costs of Obamacare. Remember, Obamacare’s official name is “The Affordable Health Care Act”. If health care is so “affordable”, why are subsidies needed? Because Obamacare made health insurance less, not more, affordable. Costs for policies under Obamacare have skyrocketed, because the legislation distorts the insurance market.

Fourth, these subsidies are not going to individuals, they are going to insurance companies.

Fifth, a very small portion of the population will be affected by the loss of these subsidies. The subsidies only affect about 1.6 million people, out of a total population of 350 million. Should a country that is $38 trillion in debt really be spending $500,000,000.00 to subsidize health insurance for 1.6 million people?

Sixth, who is subsidizing your health care? Answer: No one.

Seventh, where in the Constitution does it mention the provision of health care for the people? Where?

The Democrats inflicted the American people with Obamacare. Let them bear the burden of its failures, or let the Republicans fix it. Those are the options.

So what are Senate Democrats going to do this week to open the federal government. Nothing. Indeed, Senate Democrats are in Napa, California, meeting at the Hotel Yountville, where rooms let for up to $1,100.00 per night. They are going to enjoy a lovely wine dinner, and tour a vineyard. Just down the road is a fantastic golf course. The Democrats are hard at work. But not for the American people.

Senators Adam Schiff (D. Ca.) and Tim Kaine (D. Va.) are pushing for the Congress to ban President Trump’s use of force against Venezuelan drug dealers trying to smuggle drugs into the United States. Because Democrats are always on the side of America’s enemies.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit ruled that the Trump Administration could federalize the National Guard, but not deploy it, in Illinois. The Court is trying to have it both ways. It cannot sit on the fence forever.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C. ruled that the Trump Administration could not withhold funds from programs promoting “trans” therapies and conversions, claiming that there was no science supporting that “trans” was harmful to individuals. Naturally, the judge is an Obama appointee.

The City of Houston government repainted the crosswalk with the rainbow flag. The Texas Department of Transportation removed the rainbow flag–AGAIN–and repainted the crosswalk according to law. PAY ATTENTION HOUSTON!

The University of Minnesota student Democrats took umbrage at a remembrance for Charlie Kirk. So they celebrated “Saint” George Floyd instead. We are sure that makes sense for them.

Chef Sergio Garcia lived for decades in the United States, and was well acquainted with former President George W. Bush, for whom he often provided catered meals, both in and out of The White House. Now Chef Garcia has been deported. Twice. Because he is an illegal alien.

McDonald’s restaurants are bringing back “Boo Buckets”, which are great for trick or treating. Available when you purchase a Happy Meal.

Orvis, a beloved retailer of outdoor sporting equipment for 169 years, is shuttering 36 locations. Oh, my!

Canterbury Cathedral, a 6th century English Cathedral, and the home of The Church of England, is covered by graffiti. This was not vandalism. No, the desecration of the center of Anglicanism was done at the invitation of the Church of England’s hierarchy. Church stewards explained that they wanted to give voice to “marginalized communities”. Good grief!

Canterbury Cathedral is where “turbulent priest” Thomas Becket was run through with swords and hacked to death for standing up to tyrannical rule, and where he is entombed still today.  Canterbury Cathedral, where the Black Prince, a paragon of knightly chivalry and one of Western civilization’s greatest military commanders, also finds his resting place.  Canterbury Cathedral boasts some of the most intricate and oldest stained glass windows in the world.  Canterbury Cathedral, which houses one of William Shakespeare’s rarest works, and is a building whose history is greatly entwined with that of the Magna Carta, one of the humanity’s most significant documents.  Canterbury Cathedral is an iconic historical and religious treasure.  But to its stewards, Canterbury Cathedral is a mere surface to deface with punkish tags to bring attention to “marginalized communities” in England. 

Real Englanders, Brits by blood and spirit, with an undying love for their culture and home, are beyond fed up with what the Dean of Canterbury calls “marginalized communities.”  These “marginalized communities” are parasitic, they’re destroying the cohesion of England and the nation’s society, and they’re given preferential treatment by the government, that’s ostensibly, representing the English people.  If you demand deportation for the third-world savages turning England into a third-world Muslim hellhole, Prime Minister Keir Starmer will “fight” you with everything he has.

As it turns out, these individuals who resonate with graffiti and vandalism aren’t so “marginalized” after all.

Progressives really have an extraordinary ability to turn something unbelievably precious and beautiful into utter trash—how can you make Canterbury Cathedral look like a derelict warehouse in an inner city, or resemble a dirty freight train car?  This “is a coordinated effort to demoralize all of Christendom.”  It is a humiliation ritual for Westerners, and in particular, the Christians.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado won The Nobel Peace Prize. She then dedicated the prize to the Venezuelan people and to Donald Trump for his support for freedom for the Venezuelan people, and for all peoples around the world. The Left is not pleased.

The refs robbed Auburn, and the Georgia Bulldogs took advantage of the theft. Alabama got by Missouri. LSU beat South Carolina. Texas won The Red River Rivalry, upsetting Oklahoma. The Sooners should be embarrassed. Texas A&M beat Florida. Ole Miss struggled with Washington State.

SMU rolled over Stanford. Georgia Tech won. Wake Forest dominated Oregon State in Corvallis, resulting in the firing of Oregon State’s head coach. Clemson beat Boston College. Florida State lost to Pitt in Tallahassee.

UNC head coach Bill Belichick is telling folks that he is not going anywhere. Apparently he thinks that he can build the Tarheels into a football power. We shall see.

South Florida beat North Texas State. Rocky is inconsolable. Tulane beat East Carolina. Army and Navy both won.

Air Force lost to UNLV. Wyoming beat San Jose State. Colorado State beat Fresno State. Boise State, San Diego State, and Hawaii won.

Texas Tech beat Kansas. Kansas State beat TCU. BYU got by Arizona. Utah beat Arizona State. Coach Prime’s Buffaloes defeated Iowa State.

Ohio State thumped Illinois. Indiana upset Oregon in Eugene. USC beat Michigan. The Trojans are just teasing their fans now. Maryland’s collapse continued, as they lost to Nebraska. Northwestern beat Penn State, which earned head coach James Franklin his termination. Stick a fork in the Nittany Lions, they are done. Just as we predicted at the beginning of the season.

Brown and UPenn won. Harvard beat the Cornell anti-Semites. Princeton and Columbia lost.

The Democrat Party is the party of violence. If they lose power, if they do not get their way politically, they will resort to violence, including murder, to achieve their objectives. The Democrat Party are the real fascists and authoritarians.

Monday is Columbus Day (observed).  It is NOT “Indigenous Peoples Day”, no matter what officials in D.C., Alexandria, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and San Francisco proclaim.  IT.  IS. COLUMBUS DAY.

As every child knows, “In 1492, Columbus sailed the Ocean blue”.  It was a bold expedition, taken at a time when many believed the Earth to be flat, in an attempt to find a western route to India.  Instead of landing in India, Columbus arrived at an island that is now part of the Bahamas.  He discovered the “New World”, lands previously unknown to the “Old World”. 

The significance of Columbus’s voyages cannot be understated.  He opened up the America’s to European exploration and colonization, a process which naturally resulted in the establishment of, first, the Jamestown Colony, and eventually, the 13 English colonies and the United States of America.

By contrast, the “indigenous peoples” (aka Indians), accomplished . . . nothing.  The Observations is not being harsh in noting that the Indian tribes were savages.  They practiced human sacrifices, practiced slavery, worshipped pagan idols, engaged in endless wars with other tribes, raping women and scalping and murdering enemy prisoners, and figuratively speaking, raped the land, as they had no knowledge of conservation and wise land stewardship.  They were uneducated nomads, barely subsisting.  They established no societies or countries.  They were squatters on unsettled continents.

Now if this edition of The Observations were to leak to the usual suspects, no doubt I would be burned at the stake by the outraged mob.  Just like the indigenous peoples would have done all those years ago.  But that the American Taliban would inflict such a crime would not change history.  Facts are facts.  And it is a fact that Columbus was a consequential man who accomplished great things.  Monday we celebrate Christopher Columbus.

You realize, of course, that if our public schools still taught history, all Americans would know this. But . . . .

President Trump signed a Columbus Day proclamation, praising the “Admiral of the Seas”. That is what American Presidents used to do.

One hundred fifty five (155) years ago this coming Sunday [October 12], Robert Edward Lee died of pneumonia.  Over the previous 5 years, General Lee had transitioned into President Lee, leading the struggling Washington College in Lexington, Virginia, and placing it on solid ground.  Having spurned the many lucrative offers from businesses all over the United States following the conclusion of The Late Unpleasantness, Robert E. Lee accepted the offer from Washington College’s Board of Trustees to become its president.  For the next 5 years, Robert E. Lee worked tirelessly at improving the school devastated by the War, attracting students from the entire country, as well as donors interested in supporting the school.  He founded the College’s law and journalism schools, created the Honor System, and built what was  known as Lee Chapel (until The American Taliban struck in 2022).  Upon his death, President Lee was buried beneath the Chapel, adjacent to his office, which remains today as he left it 154 years ago.

Robert E. Lee is best known for his leadership during The Late Unpleasantness.  But his greatest legacy and effect is that which he had on “his boys”, the students that matriculated and attended Washington College, and those who came after to Washington & Lee University.  We, “his boys”, all aspire to replicate his example, knowing all the time we shall fall far short.

Robert E. Lee was a great American, a great Virginian, and a great man.  We can all take a lesson from the example he set while on this Earth.  R. I. P.

You realize, of course, that if our public schools still taught history, all Americans would know this. But . . . .

The federal government being shut down, it is not releasing economic data. But into this void, private companies are stepping in, and releasing economic data, far more accurate than that of the federal government. Super! So why exactly do we need federal agencies to exist to provide this data, when the private sector can do it better and cheaper?

The United States Court of Appeals paused a Portland, Oregon federal district judge’s order preventing the federalization and deployment of the National Guard in that city, in order to execute federal law. The Court of Appeals allowed the federalization of the National Guard, but did not permit its deployment pending further review. The district judge’s ruling is going to be overturned. It was always incorrect, as a matter of law.

The Washington Post published an article about “Lavender relationships”, where a homosexual is married to a heterosexual. The article prattles on how this is the new thing. Sigh. Just when I thought it was safe to read the Post again.

In Keller, Texas, St. Martin-In-The-Fields Episcopal Church hosted a “Pride Festival”. They wanted to hold it close to “National Coming Out Day.” Lovely.

It is one thing for a church to be open to sinners. For we are all sinners. It is quite another for a church to celebrate sin. And in this case, St. Martin-In-The-Fields celebrated 2 sins, pride and homosexuality. Sigh. No wonder the pews are empty on Sundays. And every other day.

Sonoma County, California is instituting a mask mandate in anticipation of the upcoming flu season. Hmmmm. Ordinary citizens must wear a mask, but ICE agents are [presumbably] banned from wearing masks. Fascinating.

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D.) bloviated on and on about “climate change”, and the dangers it posed to Californians. As one of his examples, he cited the Pacific Palisades fire. Uh, Governor Hair Gel? THe Pacific Palisades fire was started intentionally by a man. “Climate change” had nothing to do with it.

And not just any man. It seems that the suspect in the Pacific Palisades fire is an environmental extremist, a “climate change” activist, and . . . a Democrat. Go figure.

Pro-Hamas agitators rioted in downtown Boston, Massachusetts, resulting in property destruction, injuries, and arrests. Apparently the terrorist supporters do not care for President Trump’s proposed peace deal.

The Wall Street Journal ran a hit piece on UNC head football coach Bill Belichick, speculating that he would not last the season. Huh. As a reminder, I am no fan of Bill Belichick. But it seems a bit harsh to blame Carolina’s faltering season entirely on him. After all, there is Jordan Hudson. And Mack Brown. And the fickle fans who are always ready to declare a basketball season over if the team loses to UVA. No, Bill Belichick finishes the season, and he will return next season. Maybe by then UNC fans will have learned a little patience.

The New York Yankees are out of the MLB playoffs, and that hurts Robert. Which makes me angry. Right now I hate the Yankees.

Former Federal Bureau Of Investigation Director James Comey was arraigned in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia yesterday. He plead not guilty to the Indictment.

The problem with arraignments is that occur first thing in the morning, as they are the first order of business on the docket. And unless you live in Alexandria, getting to the federal court is really inconvenient.

A China Joe appointed federal judge in Maryland sentenced the would be assassin of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and his family to just 8 years in prison. Judge Deborah Boardman said that Nicholas Roske’s transition to Sopie Roske made him less a danger to society. She actually gave a vicious would be killer a lighter sentence because he was “trans”. And Judge Boardman was upset that the United States refused to refer to him as “her”, and by his now preferred name. She was also upset that the Bureau of Prisons refused to place Nicholas Roske–A MAN!–in a women’s penal facility. The United States Department of Justice is appealing the sentence.

Understand that? If you are committed to being “trans”, you get a lesser punishment. It is almost a get out of jail free card.

The Washington Post claims that there is no evidence that Chicago authorities are failing to protect ICE agents. We guess that those Chicago Police dispatch recordings where officers are instructed to not assist ICE agents is fake. And the Chicago Police union’s statement denouncing the standing order for officers not to assist ICE agents is fake too.

The corpulent and always irritated Katie Porter (D. Ca.) melted down in the middle of a CBS News interview. Katie Porter is running for Governor in The Golden State in 2028, and lost her patience when the interviewer asked her how she planned to appeal to the 40% of California voters who support President Trump. Miss Porter exploded, and terminated the interview, calling the question “adversarial”.

A Florida man has been arrested and charged with starting the Pacific Palisides fires in Los Angeles this past January. Hundreds were left homeless and 12 were killed as a result of the fires.

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D.) vetoed a bill that would have raised wages for State firefighters. BUT, Governor Newsom has no problem spending $300 million to amend the State Constitution to allow California respond to Texas’s redistricting efforts. Priorities.

At Oklahoma State University, a member of the Student Government Association gave a tribute to the late Charlie Kirk, wearing a Turning Point USA hat that Charlie Kirk had given him. Naturally, the student was reprimanded by a faculty member, who complained that the hat and the student’s remarks were “triggering”.

Yes. President Trump is demented. Because he wants to enforce the law, while Illinois officials seek to obstruct the law’s enforcement. Because he wants to protect federal agents doing their jobs, while Illinois officials refuse to protect federal agents doing their jobs. Because he wants to protect the citizens of Chicago from gang violence and illegal aliens’ criminal activities. Meanwhile, according to Governor Pritzker, there is no out of control violence in Chicago, and China Joe was mentally fit to be President.

There is no out of control violence in Chicago? Since 2016, in Chicago, Illinois alone, 36,000 people have been shot. Sorry Governor Pritzker, but that is out of control violence.

Does any reader doubt that if a Democrat President sent in the National Guard to confiscate citizens’ guns, that Democrat Governors such as J. B. Pritzker, as well as the mainstream media, would be cheering him on? And denoucing the resistance against federal authorities? Anyone? Anyone?

The difference between illegal aliens and guns is that Americans maintain a right to keep and bear arms. No illegal alien has a right to be present in the United States.

Federal incentives for purchasing electric vehicles have expired. In the run up to the expiration, sales of EVs skyrocketed, making up around 10% of all new vehicle purchases. Now that the incentives no longer exist, look for sales to retreat to about 2-3%. And look for automobile manufacturers to start building cars consumers actually want.

Hopefully Mercedes Benz will begin exporting diesels to the United States again, during my lifetime. You cannot beat a diesel engine for efficiency, and durability.

The relics of St. Francis of Assisi, one of the most beloved saints in history, will be put on display in Italy next year.  The relics will be on display at the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi from Feb. 22 to March 22, 2026, during which time Francis’ body will be moved from its tomb in the crypt and placed at the foot of the papal altar in the lower church of the Basilica.
